adam1942
Folks I installed a alternator Gates 6PK1173 belt. The belt squeals each time I start the engine quite badly. I thought this was due to me trashing the tensioner so I got a replacement from Alex. This did not stop the squealing. I went and got a 1155 length belt which has worked but the tensioner is nearly fully tightened (I can just flex the belt 90degrees). Anyone any ideas why it would seem my pulleys are a different size than normal? or does anyone have any ideas?
Sly@Kaizer Motor
Take a close look on every pulley, I have seen it before when a pulley isn't parallel with the others it will rubbing on the side of the belt causing noise.

The Chubby Ninja
if all else fails theres a vid on youtube showing you how to put soap on the belts to stop the squeeling. Not ideal though
