hitman wanted

Hi guys, long time no posts though i have been following..

anyways i thought i'd share my experience with Admiral and my collision (it wasnt even an accident) some half a year ago.

25 July, 1030pm, clear conditions, on a big, 3 lane roundabout a focus in my right rear corner decided he wants to take an exit from the most inside lane (i was on a middle lane going and marked! straight on) completely through my car. obviously ended up with a dent right behind the wheel arch and about 50cm scratch. pulled over, took some photos, straight away he starts to shout i drove into him (im still quite curious how, i would have to be going sideways and in reverse). Passing police noticed parked cars, they pull over, ask if there are any injuries, answer is no so they are like 'ok, exchange insurance details and be on your way'. quite a wtf moment for me. 6 months later the guy still claims i drove into him and also claims whiplash. funny thing is if there's anyone to claim whiplash it should be me, except damage is so minimal that if i didnt see his banged up focus parked in my side in my mirror i would have thought i drove over a banana skin or something :/

Admiral in their radiant wisdom say there isn't enough evidence to make his, may i add totally bogus, claim go away and so they have suspended 3 out of 4 years of my ncb and want to settle on 50/50.

now im considering ways to proceed. has anyone been in similar situation and used some independent specialists? im thinking accident damage assessment company, expert witness etc etc etc. unfortunately there was no cctv from the scene (how typical there isnt a camera when you need it and there are normally 5 every 100 meters everywhere else).

suggestions welcome

thx

Going through a similar(ish) thing where 2 years ago a massive lotry drive into my Zed, pushed me into a curb, wouldn't settle 50/50 said take me to court if you like, got paid out completely but now the lorry driver is claiming for injuries because the claim was actually settled 50/50 just my insurance decided they coukdn't be arsed to chase it and just paid me out, leaving the door open for the scumbag to then claim.... funny because he couldn't wait to get back to work when we were exchanging details.

Just another reason why insurance is going up because everybody thinks they HAVE to claim for injuries because everone else does...

Hope you get it sorted, very difficult without and witnesses, I would say dig your heels in and if you have legal cover say you will go to court, you may eventually keep your no claims and be blame free like me but beware you may still get dragged into a legal battle over injuries :surrender:

I guess there really isn't much you can do tbh as your insurance company seems to have already made their mind up. Appealing is not really going to do much and will take years and more money.

When I saw your title "hitman wanted" straight away I remembered an acquaintance who can arrange "assistance" B) but I'd doubt it'll really be worth the cost.

Best thing to do is really to learn from this. We all have a decent mobile now days an my instinct now is to pull out my phone and put on the video recorder and try to film everything.

I wonder if the other person's insurer happens to be part of the Admiral group...

In my experience, this makes it easier. I dont mean to sexist but ive only ever had 3 incidents and all 3 involved woman hitting the rear of my cars. The last one was fairly severe, and we were both insured by admiral. I got a whole new rear bumper fitted and sprayed, courtesy car and some injury pay-out too (and no, i wasnt claiming just because like some people, i still get neck pains and headaches from that accident).

I dont find admiral terribly bad, were fine for the time i was with them. I fail to see how they're any worse than any other mainstream insurer anyway, although clearly in this situation they are wrong, whos to say any other insurer wouldnt come up with the same result.

What I meant was, if they can find the fault 50/50 then it's a massive saving to them, as otherwise they have to start juggling figures and be out of pocket. I agree that in theory if both people are with the same insurer then it should be easier, but at the end of the day they are a business and will try to save costs wherever possible.

So glad I ordered my 1080p in car security camera yesterday.

No doubt find it is not submissable in the event of an accident or somerging along those lines

Bloody well is!!!

I used it as you well know!

Thats what won me my latest claim and summons:)
