c.b Posted February 6, 2013 Share Posted February 6, 2013 Hi I will soon be in the market for a zed (once I have sold my fn2) and so have been keeping an eye on autotrader, pistonheads, classifieds on here and ebay to get an idea of prices. Ideally I want a black, blue or bronze gt 2005 or earlier, dont mind buying private and was hoping to get one for around 6k. I dont mind the mileage being a little high (80k) as it will only be used for 4 miles a week and then whenever I fancy a blast. Do you think I will get one for this price? Seen them go for as little as 5k and as much as 9.5k for very similar cars. I have seen this black gt4 on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/nissan-350z-gran-turismo-4-/111000835294?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item19d82a54de and its pretty much my ideal car, favourite colour, the more powerful engine but with lower tax and that little bit rarer so it might hold its value. However one of the main things that makes this a special edition is the wheels which have gone and also the price seems astronomical to me what do you people think of it? Some other questions I have * Is the gt4 the only way to get the revup engine without the higher tax? * Should the service history run p1, p2, p3, p1, p2 etc as a lot seem to be all p1 with the occasional p3 * How can I best tell if the clutch is slipping on a test drive? * How do tall people find the zed? In terms of Z's for tall people, I'm 6' 6", and while I feel it would be nice if the seat went another inch back it's bloody good for what is it. I just recently did a 360 mile round trip and had no problems! Flex Posted February 6, 2013 Share Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Clutch, usual tests but ask when it was last changed as consensus (generally) is about 40k (i think) but obviously depends on how it's been driven. Tax is dictated by the cut off point. Also I wouldnt bother driving it 4 miles per week, I do a lot of local trips and find it's easier to jump on the push bike rather than warm the car up drive 2 mins and then come home. The reason the mileage will be so low is this will be our second car and its only real purpose (bar being my pride and joy) is to run the mrs to the station and back the one day a week I dont drop her off on my way past, and I dont think she will take to the push iron suggestion I have thought about driving it to work on those days and let her take the other as having it sitting in a train station car park all day doesnt sit well with me either but I have a 60 mile commute. As far as the U.K facelift Revups go they were introduced just after the magic lower tax rate date, only a couple of cars brought in directly by Nissan for the press to evaluate were registered before March 17th 2006. Also am I likely to get hold of a set of original gt4 alloys to go back on it? 1 It's difficult to say how much GT 4's are worth really but reckon on a premium of anything from £500 to £2,000, an exceptional one maybe £3k. 2 he often has these in stock.
