tc350z
It's times like this I wish I got a crappy jeep, just when we (Scotland) thought we cleared the "big freeze"... Boom! It starts to snow. Bad times
LRF4N
Using my RWD skyline as my daily. No probs in the snow or ice so far. Winter tyres make a huge difference

rabbitstew
I actually said to the missus maybe i should have gone for the cheaper option and bought a range rover sport instead of my beemer, but then realised theres only a few days of the year when having a 4x4 would come in handy. Still, its not to late to nip out and get some cheapy 4x4, you can pick some up for a grand. Depends on how desperate you are to get to work in the snow! tc350z
Yeh LRF4N I've seen you a few times lurking around GWR, hats down to you still using it under these weather conditions. And JEMAN I know what you mean, but for the 2weeks of sun we get, if that. I don't even know if its worth keeping my Z in the longer run, sorry to use these disgusting words but... I mite sell her in favour of an all year rounder.
tc350z
It's crazy over at my work (Falkirk) where folk have actually had to abandon there cars and walk! Mostly your saloons and hatchback types.

LRF4N
I see a few zeds on GWR but no1 looks let alone waves. Post a pic of your car so I can look out for it. If your keeping it that is I know some people who just hire a 4x4 when snow is forecast

tc350z
To be fair mate the times I see your car it's always parked up and never on the move, I'd feel a tad silly waving to an unoccupied car. I've got a standard GM zed with black rota GTR's. I'll try and post some pics as soon as its clear, dry and she's had a wash

The Bounty Bar Kid
Winter tyres on a zed is better than summer tyres on a range rover! Tyres man! TYRES!
gangzoom
+1 Winter tyres, put some on my BMW this year for the first time, was as to get up hills 4x4s on summer tyres struggled with. Plus it gives you a reason to buy a set of lovely 19inch 'summer' alloys Edited January 26, 2013 by gangzoom

martinmac
Just had a nice tour of the Lakes to survey the carnage, the was a fair bit of snow on the roads but awd and winter tyres coped very well. The main problem was the amount of branches and trees on the road.
