Munton87
Alright people , I've been looking around for a induction kit for my 350z and found the K&N Typhoon kit. I was just wondering what experiences people have had with this kit aswell as pics of it installed, cheers Ross
spursmaddave
Alright people , I've been looking around for a induction kit for my 350z and found the K&N Typhoon kit. I was just wondering what experiences people have had with this kit aswell as pics of it installed, cheers Ross Bit pricey for what it is (Pop charger in a box) but you do get some bling (Shiney intake pipe) Some members have had fitting issues with the case rubbing wires and causing shorts but I am sure it's ok if you are careful. I would personally get a Pop Charger as it is easier to fit, cheaper and sounds almost exactly the same...
Dblock
Agree. Some people say the jwt is better abit has a velocity stack but is it noticeable?
rtbiscuit
i had one and modified it to take the apexi filter. was very happy with it. looked better in the bay with the carbon lid, and the air scoop was taken from lower down in the grille. had the JWT before hand preferred the typhoon, preferred it even more with the Apexi element on the end. TheMacDaddy
Had a Typhoon on my 350. Good bit of kit, fitting was simple enough, sounded great, noticable improvement. Can't say vs JWT but noubt wrong with the K&N in my book.
andy james
Had the Typhoon kit prior to the s/c install. Lovely induction noise and after Uprev better throttle response. Way better looking than standard HR system
Munton87
Might get a typhoon after a couple of people being happy with them, where was the cheapest place to get 1 ????
Pimm
Loved my Typoon and my JWT but I am back to stock with a cosworth panel filter. I really miss the sound but felt when pulling away from the lights or 15mph suffered from heat soak, in the summer time more noticeable. At much higher speeds it felt much more responsive. When I went back to a stock box, much better from stand still, a lot smoother but at higher speeds it was not as responsive. Cheers
Gudzy
I'll have a k&n typhoon for sale when I've got chance to take it out and swap it over, will probably be a while though as don't have a garage and its too cold to be out there at the moment. Daryl
When I first fitted my Typhoon, I had an issue with the wiring loom chaffing against the base of the metal box the cone filter sits in. In the end found the problem and took some material off the box in that area, and protected the loom in other ways too. Sounds pretty awesome, and havnt noticed any other issues. However, must say that the car was bought by me with the JW pop charger, so never had the standard airbox fitted.
