im sure this may have been asked before but im looking into getting a remap either by abbey or hdev and was wondering what sort of gains would i expect in power and torque just with basic mods like pannel filters decats and a good exaust. does the hr engin respond well to n/a tuning will i get good gains?

just wondering because i see alot of de engines with basic mods and they make fairly good gains i know its not all about peak figues on a dyno but im just interested to what sort of power i could be looking at after

thanx Alex.

you wont get massive gains on paper but the increased responsiveness and sound of the car makes it more than worth while. I've got high flow cats, mliltek and free flow filters on mine and it made 292 at the hubs. The car however is much more responsive and more enjoyable to drive.

Do it!

You dont get much gains on an HR without spending a lot of money. Different air filters dont make any difference at all. Adding a cat back system gives you nothing. If you go for a full decat & system, then a remap you might get a few extra HP, but you end up spending a lot.

The reason being is that Nissan basically took the older engine and did everything they could do to get every last extra bhp out of it. Including modifying the water ways to improve cooling, adding duel intakes & ram air etc. etc. Thats why its got 309bhp compared to the older engines which had 276bhp.

Best thing to do is to speak to one of the tuners who have done work on the HR cars and see what gains they typically see.
