CardShark
Hi all, I've recently noticed what can only be described as a metallic scraping kind of noise coming from the rear (I think) of the car whenever I have a a fair amount of steering lock on. I can't hear anything with the windows up but with them down it's quite noticable, the car also seems to have developed a knocking sound as well which can be heard with the windows up but I can't feel anything loose when I'm driving. Any ideas? And are there any recommended garages in the Essex/Braintree area that know Zeds well? My apologies if these are amature questions that have been covered a million times before, but as you can probably tell by my post count I don't frequent this forum particularly often Any pointers greatfully recieved Stu
BulletMagnet
GBH Motorsport near Colchester is a jap specialist, but if you are willing to go a bit further south, then I'd recommend DMS in Erith
DoogyRev
Knocking could be bushes/droplinks Kaizer MC are not far from you also, SMD highly recommends them http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/167-kaizer-motor-company/
StevoD
could have a low/materialess brake pad
Darren-B
I had a problem similar to this a few years back when cornering left @ speed. Got black flagged for it on track. Went over the car checking every moving part & changed pads/disks, & it ended up being the metal dust shield behind the nearside brake, it was just touching the disk under extrreme cornering. But as stevo said it`s likely to be low pads.

Wheel off, bend the guard back slightly, wheel back on, problem solved.
CardShark
Thanks for your replies guys, sounds like it's a simple fix, thankfully! I need to sort out the clicking axles as well so will investigate/repair/replace at the same time, I won't need to drive the car until it's all sorted so I've no concern about driving with possible low friction material on the rear pads.
