Aliensurfer
Quick question for you guys. Having bought the Zed a month or so ago, I have no idea what type of oil was put in her by the dealership and am needing a top up. Would it be ok to buy some 5W30 to put in, or would you guys suggest a full oil change so I know exactly what's in there? (She's due a service in 4000 miles anyway) Cheers. HEADPHONES
To top up, a 5w30 will be fine. Even 0w40, 0w30, 5w40 etc will be OK as im assuming it's only going to be a couple hundred ml and not a big volume in relation to the total volume. The recommended oil is 5w30. Costco do 4l of 5w30 Castrol edge for £29.99 incl VAT for future oil changes;)

spursmaddave
I would be worried if you need a top up after 2 months..... my 2004 on 108k doesn't drink a drop between services
wizard
If it's drinking oil buddy, I would top up with slightly thicker stuff then 5w. I would use 10w or even 15w fully synthetic.
Dan-bourne
the w is not the one you want to change, its referencing a thickness only for cold starts. maybe try a 5w/40 castrol edge instead.

Arran
Silkolene pro s 5w30 is the best for it imo
