elfman
So just done a quote online for my new 370. I I have done this with Admiral and couldn't believe the results! A few months ago I did one when I was thinking about getting the car that came to £1750. Done another today as I'll be getting the car soon £1140 seems a massive £600 has been dropped from it! Asked sky and unfortunately they could only come in at £1500 Still £1140 For a 25 year old male living in a high risk posted code isn't to bad!! elfman
I did the previous quote when I was 25 as well unless the month of being 25 makes a difference  Edited December 30, 2012 by elfman
Sarnie
Google the 'Gender Directive' that was brought in on 21st December. Basically it means that ALL insurances can no longer differentiate between males and females..........
4RE Leather
Problem is with brokers they use specialist insurance companies then take there commision. The bigger the broker, the higher there overheads and you pay the hike. No way can they ever compete with AXA and the like. If your car has no mods then steer clear of brokers as they are just raping your wallet.

leonk
So if you're SMD's carer living in Toxteth, you'd be uninsureable? Edited December 31, 2012 by leonk
spursmaddave
So if you're SMD's carer living in Toxteth, you'd be uninsureable? Uninsurable and probably deeply depressed and suicidal

The other brokers were £100's more. I would not put that statement had i not tried:) No one could get near him in my case, however i draw referance that no one could get near AXA or swift in my case for a bog standard Zed. elfman
Until this new thing came in sky where cheaper for me! Then Admiral cut by a couple of hundred.
Dblock
Also I get my quote from admiral and haggle with them. Normally get between £20-£60 off not bad for a little bit of hassle.
Spoony
I have found in the past couple years most companies quote there cheapest possible price, so when the renewal comes through £50-£100 more than compare the market prices they just say they cannot compete which is quite annoying but at the end of the day we will go for the cheapest price providing we are happey with the reviews of the company. I found this two for quite a few years I went between Admiral elephant and bell as they're the same company and when you ring up say Admiral as that's who your with and tell them bells quote you have they instantly match or beat it. AMT
Admiral have been good with me, kept coming down with the Coupe and they quoted me just over £1K for the 350Z (26yrs, 2NCB, 3points). So I'm expecting it to be below the 1K mark next November. Possibly if I'm lucky with this talk of not using male/female as a basis, a good bit less! Can only hope! Dynamic Turtle
Mine just came down by £300 to £626 (£576 without the girlfriend!), so I'm pretty happy about that. 33, but only held a license for 3 years
WhackyWill
I'm doing the insurance "thing" at the moment. Sky are only £20 dearer than Admiral but Admiral will also give me a second driver whick Sky wont. So the missus gets free insurance on it...not that she will ever drive it. Quin Direct were only about £10 more than Admiral. Cheapest by £15 over all were Quote me happy...will never use them again, they are a nightmare if you want to change anything on your police as they are only an on line Company owned by Aviva and and Aviva dont want to know. Tip is put on your policy an older driver as the second driver mum dad etc and yourself as main driver this will bring it down. Prestige Insurance are on something....three times the price of everybody else and "wait for it" £3,000 excess...are they sure...!!! Well good luck with your hunt. Dont know if you've tried but give Adfrian Flux a ring (yes, trust me RING them!). Insurance is different for everyone but they were able to match the quotes i was getting online but also include key cover, breakdown cover and 3rd party insurance on any other car. I added my mum as a second named driver and she helped with the prices by a bit too. If you can speak to Ed (he's the one who helped me) you will be in expert hands.
