Inferno5
Hi Everyone, I hope you can help me with a simple query. What is the best way to clean the inside of your wheels without removing them? I am looking to speed up the process of my weekly clean, as I often struggle to get my hand past the front caliper, (and end up scratching my hands to shreds) and its a bit of a faff moving the car every time, is there a wheel brush or anything to make the job any easier or am I just being too lazy? Any help / comments are much appreciated. Edited December 16, 2012 by Inferno5
The Bounty Bar Kid
Megs wheel brush with their clean wheels spray.
Ekona
Espuma Revolution and a really long wheel brush. You'll also want a Swissvax-style brush to do the tricky bits. Makes cleaning the wheels a breeze.
Inferno5
Thank you Bounty Bar Kid and Ekona, very much appreciated, Are there any recommended traders for these items or is it just a google search?
The Bounty Bar Kid
But use a small brush like Autoglyms or a horse hair one for the details is front/fascia of rims.

Ekona
Didn't realise you were there matey! My car was right at the end of the grid on the left as you drove in, parked next to a gorgeous old XJ 4L.
smudgedon
Nothing better than taking the wheels off every now and then for a clean on the inside. I used to do it once a month for the wheels on my Audi and will be doing it again once my new ones are on the zed next year

Inferno5
Thank you Tim for your reply, I have forwarded the details to my family, as they wanted to get me some car products for Christmas! Smudgedon - I agree, and do take them off regularly to fully clean them. - In this instance, I was thinking on more of a quick clean on a weekly basis, as I live in the countryside where my wheels inevitably get filthy this time of year, I was looking for an easier way to clean them without the hassle of taking the wheels off or cutting my hands to shreds. - looks like I have found the answer courtesy of everyone's help, and some handy brushes from Tim! scubapics
How about take them off. Give them a good clean. Then seal them with GTechniq C5 Wheel Armour. Then snow foam and pressure wash with perhaps agitation with a brush if you are unlucky.

scubapics
How long does Poorboys last?
ilogikal1
A couple of layers of Poorboys will see a good few months of protection. I usually top it up every other month, long before it's actually needed it.
scubapics
I'm expecting Gtechniq C5 to last 9 months fingers crossed! It's rated to last up to a year.
ilogikal1
Out of interest, how much of the C5 did you use to do all 4 wheels? I could be tempted away from the Poorboys when it eventually runs out.
scubapics
I used just about the whole bottle. So that's £20ish quids worth. I dare say that I used too much. It is very hard to see it going on.
ilogikal1
Just a bit of a price difference then. I'd be interested to see what the durability is like though, it would certainly be a bonus during winter not having to take the wheels off!
