theheff
guys, this isnt another who does it or what colour question. ive enquired with a few companies about having my wheels refurbed. some do same day service, others want the wheels for 3 days. ive also been told about wheels being acid dipped before being fully painted and the companies that do that see mt imply that the other companies only do the face of the wheel. are there differnet methods and ways of doing it? also would acid dipping be ok on the zeds wheels? is it worth paying extra for these companies or do the drive in ones do a good enough job. cheers Paul

theheff
So what's the best route to go down then? I can live without the car for a few days so its not the end of the world. And I want an anthracite finish. Possibly a bit darker than the finish above to go on gunmetal grey car.
Pnthrblkzs
I had my wheels refurb'd on a same day service and although i had to pay extra for the priviledge it was worth it as at the time it would have cost me money not having a car. Also, although i've never had wheels freshly refurb'd with a paint finish before to compare it too, the powdercoated finish is excellent in my opinion. It's so easy to clean even without a wheel cleaner they wipe down nicely with normal car shampoo and minimal effort.
S1 HNK
Get them powder coated. Use these guys, i've used them loads of time, same day service and they do a proper refurb not a quick spray on the front face. http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/ They have franchises everywhere so see if there is one near you. Also haggle, they usually have a 25% offer if you ask.
Pnthrblkzs
I used the wheel specialist also for mine. Obviously they are a franchise so opinions vary but i used the Fareham branch who were spot on. I did find them expensive and was recommended other places by locals on this forum who also had a good reputation and provided a much cheaper quote, but after taking into account travelling further and being without a car for a few days they seemed the best option. Just shop around and ask what you will get for your money. As said though ask if there is a chance of any discount, i think i managed 20% Jon
