Dal123
Hi guys, I posted on here a while back about a stainless system, but I've changed my mind to a cheaper exhaust now, through the advice of others as I've had the car six years, it is likely I will replace in the coming years. I would like a fairly cheap exhaust, not loud apart from when you are really caning it. I am thinking of having it tuned (ecu remap or whatever they call it nowadays) to improve fuel consumption. Is it worth it, who can recommend someone to do it, and where? I am in Romford, Essex, don't want to travel massive distances and would appreciate if the area has wi-fi and office as I can do some work whilst waiting to be fitted. I would like to come down Saturday 8 December, greatful for any input. Also I need a couple of fans changed, air conditioning fan, and the other fan belt as when serviced a couple of months ago it was noted they need replacing, could the recommended person see to them too? Regards Dal
MITZ@CougarStore
Dal, we have a few options you can choose from, Cobra Sport Exhaust and Scorpion are two examples that are good value and a good upgrade for the OEM system... Drop us a call or PM If you need more info...

rtbiscuit
are you hoping to have it fitted this saturday? you might have left it a bit late, to book in for a custom build, or maybe even just a fitter.
Dal123
Yes I would like to have it fitted this Saturday if possible. Concerned about how loud it is as I don't want a loud system. How much for full exhaust supplied and fitted. Can you do my fan belts also, and is it worth a remap?
glrnet
Give Dixon Motorsport a shout or the place at Thurrock I never remember the name of Somebody will know
rtbiscuit
closest custom place to romford is Hayward and Scott stainless steel exhausts. they will build you a fantastic system, but you'd need to ring them for a price and if they are free this weekend which i doubt as they are very busy. you might be more likely to get a generic system delivered and try and find an exhaust fitter locally to do it. but i'd book in with one now. generic places would charge about £30 an hour fitting, should take no more than 2 hours. but you'll need to order one for delivery tomorrow at the latest to give ther supplier enough time to get it to you for friday. ready for fitting sat. Dal123
Thanks, I am not interested in a custom system, I just need a cheap, quiet exhaust. I've got a guy round the corner who is good, but I was thinking of a remap, though it seems no one recommends getting one.
rtbiscuit
if you want a remap the closest to you are abbey motorsport and horsham development. but i'm not sure you'll book in on such short notice. but they would fit your kit for you as well. give them a ring and see what they say.
Dal123
Thanks, they're miles from me unfortunately, must be someone more local. Does anyone recommend a remap, would I see a noticeable difference in fuel economy?
rtbiscuit
remaps are good, but you'll nev er get massive numbers its more about improving the overall feel of the car. but only 3 places in the UK are able to remap the ECU on the zed as it needs uprev software. that is abbey, horsham, and RStuning.
Dal123
Thanks, why don't car's come with optimum settings? Given it's a highly competitive market and you would've thought they would be trying to be the best they can be? Sorry to go off topic there, just got into a deep thought lol. Different markets, fuel quality, temperatures and laws in different countries. Plus who know how the car will be taken care of.
rtbiscuit
the cars are set to meet legislation for different countries, so the settings are changed depending on which domestic market it is being supplied to. this could be adjustments for emissions, amoungst many other things.
Dal123
Anyone have any recommendations on cheap exhausts. As forewarned by others on forum I had left it too late for this. Anyone have any recommendations for a cheap full exhaust system? Not after stainless; cheap and cheerful.
MITZ@CougarStore
How cheap are we talking, as we do the Scorpion system for £374 and the Cobra Non Resonated for £395...
Dal123
Thanks CS, are you sure you do the cobra for £395? It looks like two parts of the exhaust, and the y pipe for an additional £200 or am I reading it wrong? Regards
MITZ@CougarStore
The £395.00 is for the Y pipe back system, which includes the Mid Pipe and Rear Silencer, if you wanted to make it a Cat back system then you'd need to add the Y pipe which is an additional £199... Dal123
Thanks, I presume the cars standard has a 'cat back system'????
MITZ@CougarStore
The 350z system is Cats - Y Pipe - Mid Pipe - Rear Slencer... If your exhaust has failed where the mid pipe meets the rear box, then all you need to replace is the Mid and Rear as most members opt for...
