ThriftyFifty
Haven't seen this anywhere? I know you can pickup 350Z autodim mirrors, one of my big hates is the car not having one. Has anyone on here successfully bought a US autodim mirror and fitted to a UK or JDM 350z?

ThriftyFifty
Why not? Power is there from the internal light fixture . Pete, how about you take the plunge and import one and let me know how it goes? I for one have had enough of people driving with fog lights without any fog! tjstr
I found this a while back as I used to have an auto dim mirror on a previous car and would quite like one again. http://www.350z-uk.com/index.php?/topic/11725-Auto-dimming-rear-view-mirror I haven't got around to it yet but, if I do, I'll probably go for the Gentex Gen k2 which you can find on eBay...I'm not interested in a compass or external temp. The other thing is that it seems to me that the central locking sensor on my car is not connected to the mirror so it may be a bit simpler than what is described in the linked post. Dicky
What, pray tell is an auto dim mirror. Does it automatically prevent you from being blinded by headlights from behind??
Dicky
I didn't really want to know anyway!
Pnthrblkzs
Lol, yeah it auto dims when the car behind is within a certain distance behind you so their headlights don't dazzle you in the rear view mirror. I had it im my old 3 series, it's a nice extra to have but i don't miss it.
KyleR
Can't say I have ever used the dimming thingy on a mirror to justify one...
M13KYF
wasnt it an option in US or Japan. Seem to remember someone buying one here but was a pain to fit and didnt get it done
BulletMagnet
I tend to use the manual dim function on the standard mirror against rear dazzling headlights
spursmaddave
Only bugs me when a RR is behind, their lights are just the right (wrong) height
spursmaddave
If anyone does decide to try it, please don't take power from the dome light.... run it all the way up from the cigarette lighter or the HU loom etc

Sounds like a handy device, although lifting my left arm up and tilting the mirror isn't that much of a pain. Anyway if it were I'd just get the wife to do it ( that's voice activated technology) ha ha
