HEADPHONES
How time flies. Zed is about to enter it's 8th winter on it's original battery. I reckon I'll get an Exide battery with 65A and a cold crank of 580 come change time. I reckon old battery is living on borrowed time so may change it despite it still seeming perfect. What would you do and has anyone had the original battery last more than 8 yrs?
JetSet
has anyone had the original battery last more than 8 yrs? I've only had one car longer than 8 years, my RS Turbo and the original battery on that lasted 3 years, and I was on my 4th battery when I sold it. My Zed was 13 months old when I bought it in 2007 but was on display in a showroom for the entire time and I suspect the battery had been left in as it only lasted until mid 2008. 8 years is phenomenal really but if we have a bad winter you'll wake up one freezing morning with a dead battery for sure! spursmaddave
I am on the battery that was in my Zed in 2009 when I bought it, not sure how new it was then...... 40k and 4th winter coming up
Beavis
Still on my original 05 battery and I don't use the car much! Though is kept alive with a battery conditioner during the winter.
Chris AME
Mine was on original battery until last winter so that was nearly 9 years, I converted mine onto uk battery terminals and put a smaller lighter battery on
Darren-B
My Zeds battery is 8years old to & still going strong. But what's even more impressive is @ the same age, coming upto 200k & still going strong the original battery on my van lives

rtbiscuit
my jag battery is 12 years old, and on its way out fast, its finally struggling with cold cranking now the weather has changed. i did some research into buying this week and i ended up going for a bosch s5 battery. as it comes with a 5 year warranty. i nearly got the exide, as it had a higher CCA and AH but from doing my reading exides rep seems to have slipped. and several places warn off using them. how true this is i don;t know. but the clincher was checking on the jag forum lots reccomend the Varta silvertop battery, which turns out to be made by bosch. i need a fair amount of battery grunt compared to the zed so my new battery which should arrive this week from an online supplier was £105, has 850 CCA and 100AH CCA = cold cranking amps (how much grunt it has to turn over (the higher the better)) AH = amp hours (how long the battery lasts (the higher the better))

I think the Varta D47 for the zed is ONLY rated at 60A and CCA 540. Yours I'd almost double!
rtbiscuit
the exide one i was looking at was 100 ah and 900 cca, but settled on the bosch due to its warranty (exide only came with a 4 year warranty) and reliability and build quality
