Whazza22
Hi all, My brake pedal has been a bit spongy for a week or so since the brake pads were inspected. I have followed the brake bleeding procedure to remove the air in the system but it won't clear. Tried both the rear brakes with the tube and jar method but quite alot of bubbles still keep coming out! Have gone through 2 litres of fluid and its not getting any better. Any ideas? Thanks
350 Russ
dont mean to teach you to suck eggs, but just incase you didnt know there are 2 nipples on each brembo calliper, might be that? see any leaks anywhere near the master cylinder? Neilp
There is a certain procedure for doing the brake bleeding. Theres a guide on here somewhere
Whazza22
I have standard calipers on mine so there is only one either side. Can't see any leaks and the fluid isn't going down in the reservoir at all (only when I bleed)
Whazza22
I have followed the procedure by doing it the order of wheels but the first wheel doesn't clear the bubbles :S Cars eh!! Whazza22
Jar with bit of new fluid in and a length of rubber hose. Pumping the brake several times and bleeding each brake. Sequence should be right rear, left rear, right front then left front until bubbles stop. However, after doing it about 15 times on the first brake and still loads of bubbles I'm stuck
Sam Mcgoo
Is there two of you doing it ? Person 1 on the brake pedal, person 2 opening and closing the bleed nipple?
Sam Mcgoo
Person 2 opens nipple. Person 1 presses down brake pedal. Person 2 closes nipple Person1 releases brake pedal. And repeat. Sounds like your just pumping the brakes without closing the nipple and sucking the air back into the calliper.
Whazza22
That's exactly what we were doing. One on brake and one on nipple. Closing nipple before releasing pedal.
