se350z
Hi everyone, i guess i need to change some of the parts of my Z, basically when im parking i usually get this click noise from front wheels. Especially when im reverrsing, i made a research before i went on holiday and they told me that i had to change one of the joints or something like that. I forgot does anyone know whats wrong or what it could be? Thanks
ZMANALEX
A clicking noise from the front wheels is usually the pads moving within the front calipers. Alex.
HEADPHONES
Also check that the wheel nuts are not loose. I had similar sound once and that was the cause.

HEADPHONES
Also check that the wheel nuts are not loose. I had similar sound once and that was the cause. Tell me about it. The guy who worked on it must of forgot to torque them up right. Lucky was only a short drive home and I checked it straight away. I remember one member actually had the rim come off mid drive. Mine weren't loose and coming off.....just not torqued enough. Still scary thought though!
HEADPHONES
Even more scary was when I went to an Indy garage to get bushes done on my old prelude shortly after.they showed me that one of the bolts holding the strut on was missing. NEVER WENT BACK TO RYLAND HONDA EVER AGAIN! Only went coz I heard a snap from the front. They said couldn't see a problem. 3 weeks later fail me on MOT....snapped spring WHERE I TOLD THEM EARLIER! Then the wheel nuts loose. Fail fail fail.

Hi alex, thanks for the reply. if the pads are making the noise, how am i going to solve it by changing the pads? If the click is indeed from the pads then new pads may not fix it as aftermarket pads vary in size. Some are a tailored fit whilst others may be a tad loose. Providing there is plenty beef left on the pads then I would wait until the pads are done before swopping them out. Perhaps, removing the pads and greasing up the pins and pad rears may help. Darren-B
With Alex on this one, so long as the wheel nuts are good it's probably the pads, most aftermarket pads have a slightly looser fitting , which is not always a bad thing as it reduces the chances of them binding
