spursmaddave
Got mine done by a member on here, not sure anyone else is offering the service.... Edited November 10, 2012 by spursmaddave
DannyBoy
A few people (SMD for example, who's just posted as I'm writing) have done a full LED conversion with Blackcats gauge faces, and I've got all the stuff ready to go in over the winter myself. I'm DIYing it, as there's nothing too intimidating if you're handy with a soldering iron. My plan B for if i get in over my head is to have a general electronic repair service do all the soldering, but still do the taking apart and putting back together myself. Diab2005
What sort of money would you be looking at to get this sorted?
spursmaddave
It took the guy that did mine pretty much all day.... Quite a lot of work stripping the car down, removing old LEDs and soldering new ones the size of a pinhead then testing, fitting the trim back, recalibrating all the dials.... :poppy:
Husky
The pain in the arse was the strip/test/recalibration. It's a lovely mod though, and I'll certainly be doing it again to any future cars I own. Got a little bit nostalgic seeing those epics Dave Glad you are still enjoying them. DannyBoy
Is there actually a guide for this on here? I know there are a few others floating around the internet but if there isn't one on the forum then I might try to make one when I do mine. Lord-Zed
Looks really nice but defo need to be a dab hand at soldering. Are any of the bulbs just twist lock or they all soldered?
DannyBoy
Looks really nice but defo need to be a dab hand at soldering. Are any of the bulbs just twist lock or they all soldered? They're all surface mounted LEDs of various types except the main interior light up by the rear view mirror. The soldering itself isn't THAT hard as long as you know what you're doing and have a steady hand. The problem is that if you do mess it up and burn the circuit board it's going to get really expensive really fast. DB
