smudgedon
Noticed this recently since its been cold, my oil pressure gauge seems to read a lot higher than usual, reaching near the 120 mark when accelerating from cold Is this normal? ewan221
mines higher as well first thing, normal for the cold weather. Does it go down once car warned up ?
glrnet
Quite normal as the oil viscosity changes with temperature, thicker when colder, should revert to normal when normal running temp is reached though
AMT
Noticed this aswell! When its cold and jumping on the motorway it will breifly jump up but it should settle

smudgedon
Settles down to about 60 when warmed up I guessed it was something to do with the viscosity but was quite alarmed when it neared the 120 mark!! Cheers guys
Ebized
Given the oil is that much thicker when cold, for the sake of engine longevity avoid hard acceleration and short shift until you see the normal pressure.

Exactly what I was doing Thanks Colin
DaddyCee
normal pressure being 30?
Wasso
For me cold 60, warm just a fraction below 30. I always warm the car up before moving. For me I don't even move till the temp needle has moved above the lower cold mark. Will then refrain from revving the engine beyond 3k till my oil pressure is down to 30. WhackyWill
Should not be revving the Boll**cks of it when the oil is cold...warm it up first....
cs2000
Should not be revving the Boll**cks of it when the oil is cold...warm it up first.... Yup, i hate the noise that cars make when the oil is cold, you can tell its not happy, bvut as all have said above, oil pressure is fine, aslong as it settles down when its warm
Gonzo88
My oil pressure seems to rest between 30-60 once warm, but when I accelerate it shoots up close to 120. I'm pretty new to the zed so not sure what is and isn't expected.

Once warm mine sits at 30 on idle, around 60 on normal driving at just over 90 if driving with some "va va voom"
