Whazza22
Looking at some lowering springs but roads where I live aren't the best. Would I end up damaging the car or causing problems if I am constantly driving over potholes etc? Thanks
MITZ@CougarStore
You will need to drive with caution but lots of members use 30mm springs, you just need to adapt your driving when approaching speed bumps...
Wasso
On OEM bumper and skirts no problem. Yes be a little wary of heavy duty speed bumps and very steep car parks and you'll be fine.
Whazza22
Nice and slow 30mm all round won't rub with 17" wheels will it?
MITZ@CougarStore
With 17" wheels you should be good, lots of members run 30mm springs with 18", 19" and even 20" wheels...
Dblock
I'd get the springs for the looks and handling alone. I don't do speed bumps but the car looks amazing once lowered. One of my favourite mods TBH.
ianphampton
Looks great but you will have problems, especially on private estate speed bumps which tend to be steeper Plus - don't go to Northern Ireland as the roads are even worse than England - I bottomed out 4 times in a weekend in Norn Iron and I'm only lowered about 18mm If I had my time again I'd not drop her any
Whazza22
Did you cause any damage Ian? Or did it just sound nasty
Whazza22
Anyone got any before and after pics
Wasso
Before After Ok so there's a vast body kit change but you get the idea. That's was on the Eibach springs.
Dblock
I live near no real speed bumps so I'm fine. Honestly once it lowered it looks like a different car and handle so so much better. Give the car a more muscular and low slung look with out looking modified. It looks "right" lowered.
Whazza22
Yeah I agree looks a lot better! Ordered the springs so might have a go at it myself this weekend. Just got to get some spring compressors. I believe it's pretty easy to do (he says)
Wasso
There is a way to do it without aping compressors apparently but haven't got a clue how. And don't forget to get the alignment done thereafter

Whazza22
Yeah willl get alignment down. Can that be done the week after? Any idea on prices for aligning?
ianphampton
Damaged the flexibles on the Y pipe But it really just sounded awful - when you get this hard BANG right under your. . . . seat . . . . and it's the feeling of inflicting such pain on my poor girl
Whazza22
O dear! Looks like the previous owner did that to mine and it wasn't even lowered!!
