evilscorp
USA had to import it with the AMS parts, stardast parts were easier to get hold of :-/
evilscorp
So the brakes are done, but no chance of testing them so the review will have to wait. Only a few burdens with the kit; 1. it has a few washers/spacers which are fidily to keep in place when bolting up the caliper bracket to the hub. 2. the brake hoses are not as easy to attach as the hel items I had previously, you need to rotate the whole hose which is a bit annoying if you have left a drip tray on the ground and it keeps hitting it out the way 3. the bracket for keeping the hoses free from hitting suspension parts is not the easiest or obvious where to place it. ?? still not sure if I like the idea of the BC suspension bracket and the hose is slightly shorter so wont work with the hel bracket. Apart from those tiny gripes it is a decent kit to fit. These were totally caked in @*!#, needed a proper clean to get the little fork spring retainer out. Stupidly I did a rookie mistake, in my wisdom I thought it would be wise to crack/check all the nipples would open, then tighten them back up again.... bar one. This led to air being brought into the system for ages until I realized why the bubbles were moving too fast and not properly creating a vacuum Might need to buy another brake fluid as the level is low, doh!
evilscorp
Bottom red stripe added for breaking up the murdered out look. I hate the prep work Also bought a cheap set of areocatches, not sure if i will fit them to the z or the koukicuda, the locking mechanism looks rife for corrosion issues, so I may splash out on a real set and compare the two. evilscorp
So the difference in catches is small but the quality of the real item is obviously better. The fake will go on the koukicuda. As the lock is suspect (check the gap). Also no fixing plate underneath which will need something fab'd up rather than tiny washers. Filled in some rivet holes that weren't used on the stardast kit so it looks a bit better and less like a bodge together of kits. prep for spraying. and then I sprayed.... might have ****ed up a skirt, tried a different method of spraying on a table rather than hanging everything like i did before, it wasn't as good/easy then my light broke so I wasn't able to see how much paint was overlapping. Doh. Waiting for the morning to try again on the other panels.
evilscorp
Trying Imgur out... Bigger fan for spray booth needed Chinesium diffuser links to hold the rear diffuser up along with the mighty cable tie.
evilscorp
So cutting into a carbon bonnet is up there in my top 5 bum squeeky moments. So many minor adjustments needed to make this dam thing fit, slight bend of the pin, slight elongation of the radiator support hole for said pin, lots of cutting of fiberglass and carbon. just need to cut a rubber gasket so water isn't as much of an issue (bonnet has vents so who am I kidding.) messy business. it will sit flush. Wheels and tyres are on....... looks @*!# hot in the flesh.... from far enough away from the paintwork. ride height will settle a little lower but need to keep it high so I can get in and out my driveway (even with wooden boards). But the tyres should have added 7-10mm extra height. So will it pass an MOT? Or do I need more camber? 4 wheel alignment next. Battery is off the trickle charger, just a few more bits and my poison will be outside! in the fresh freezing cold winter lol.

evilscorp
Well you didn't miss much she made it to the end of the street then had to turn back, couple of interference issues with tyres and bodywork The wheel arch liner for the passenger side needs some cable ties to hold the two sections together as the front seems to have curved down and is touching the wheel on bumps. But the main issue is the larger tyres hit part of the ams superlagerra wings so the cutting disc needs to come out again, no biggie. She sounds good, and can't hear any leaks (you guy's with vortechs will know i am talking pish as you can't hear much over the jet engine lol). Still need to attach the zspeed undertray properly again and sadly maybe have to raise the ride height a smidge.
evilscorp
Wheel arches and liner trimmed. Had a play with some mesh, think I will order some more of this plastic stuff, looks decent in person, photos not so much.

evilscorp
Paint, need to get a fine brush to clean the edges as it bled under the tape. It’s less pink than the photo shows. LRF4N
I like it. Red accents on black always work. Mine will be the opposite

Can't be far away now tho man Yeah it's not easy to find nice stuff, took a punt and happy with it so waiting on two more sheets to come, one for the side vents and the other one for the koukicuda headlight grill. I could probably have it on the road next week, just have to wait for the mesh then a slot with my friendly MOT man. Won't be driving it much but plan to give her a wash and take a few photos before going under a car cover while I start work on the other car. The Chubby Ninja
That's awesome! It's been a while since you've driven it and I feel your pain lol. Mine seems to be over cooling driving in this weather so will need to fashion some cardboard shields for the radiator so you might find yours is the same
P15UL T
Looking good mate. Fitted some of tat mesh to mine the other week. Nice stuff
evilscorp
Just had a P1065 code for ecm issues thrown up, also a running rich one which is fine as the car was sitting idling on a hill for a while. Think I read somewhere if you mess about with the side repeaters it happens, which would explain it as I was having to rewire one as I couldn't be assed disconnecting the battery. Codes are gone now so hopefully all is ok for MOT tomorrow!
