evilscorp
Planning to make my own 6 or 8 AN feed line to the new rails, bought the CJM 6 AN fuel pump assembly adapter, if this doesn't give enough fuel with the 340lph pump I will have to bite the bullet and buy the big boy twin pump. evilscorp
Something like 19 hours on these heads so far for porting and polishing, if i was to use a metal bur it would have been quicker but I am new to this so taking it slow and steady. This also turned up, I will eventually hire it out for people who need to rebore their engines and try to recoup some of its cost as it wasn't cheap Also the missus asked for a cup holder but the oem audi ones retail at £140 so i made her this for £4. lol Tried to tap a thread into my spare cylinder head's valve guides but it was not tight enough and the threads of the bolt wont catch, the next tap size up is a lot larger and will be difficult. Hopefully I will try again on a valve stem that is in better shape as that was the worst one and probably very worn. I am also in talks with a wheel shop about vossen work vws 1 or 2's for my wheels, as the hre wheels i wanted are out of my budget. Few other things taking up my time like the missus tt diff is making noises and i expect its in dier need of an oil change (life time oil my ass!) but the hex fill plug is seized solid and has started to round hammer and chisel tomorrow.
evilscorp
HR head gasket block mod done today, and more boring head polishing. The mini sand paper rolls were 12mm which is what you need to remove downwards from the original casting. mine worked out about 1inch below the deck surface so used that measurement when I switched out to the faster bur on the big drill.

evilscorp
removing valve guides, 1/4" UNF tap and bolt used (M6 is too small and M8 is too big, you try finding M7 s#@t!) Then used a 7.5mm drill through from the deck side to thin out the valve guide and reduce its interference force on the cylinder head. Good old hammer and a punch, (dont use a valve especially a broken one that has been work hardened ) Not much effort involved to remove the old guide but I plan on heating the good heads in the oven at 70-90* to allow them to come out even easier, no scoring of the bores

evilscorp
Woohoo! Great timing from Torqen, new valve guides and other hard to get ferrea stuff at the best price. Just need to get my finger out now and grow some balls, enough practice on the spare head.... well i might do another few guides before i am confident i wont drill wonky and go through the side of the guide and knacker the bore! Now Adrian about those fancy wheels........

evilscorp
Bum... just checked the price of a bench drill.... the accuracy is needed and the price is low enough. Any recommendations for a cheap £100 bench drill? Takes the fear out of drilling straight down the valve guide. evilscorp
After 2years waiting my garage will soon be finished.
evilscorp
So the garage is coming along, but no show again from the builders today Thinking about the two part resin flooring with flakes through it? whats everyone's opinion on garage flooring? Took the valves springs, keepers, etc out of the head zmanalex sent me, only issue is my cheap valve stem seal puller wont budge these ones so will have to use pliers. Could do with a good clean, plan to reuse the keepers and retainers so have coated them in oil until I can be bothered giving everything a clean (in the new garage). New stuff from torqen, but need to wait as there was a minor mix up and I need to switch valves and have also ordered some JWT C2 cams (in for a penny and all!) Also bought this so I can be 99% sure everything will be torqued correctly as my old mechanical one has been laying about for a few years and would prefer to have a back up. Wheels have also been ordered

evilscorp
started to prime the walls for paint with some stuff for sealing concrete blocks outside so should do the trick for inside too, then a few coats or one thick coat of white emulsion paint, nothing fancy for the walls as they are for light reflection mostly and will have some hangers/shelves and tool boards attached soon. Just waiting on the outside smooth casting to be finished and the pit cover being made. The builder also said he was hiring a grinder to smooth the floor, not that bothered as I have ordered 11bags of Cempolay Ultra Levelling Compound, a spiky roller and some weird spike shoes to help apply the stuff. Then it will hopefully get a coat of this or what I really want

evilscorp
Not as good as yours, also looked through your build thread (as usual before i tackle any job) and realized i could have probably installed a floor lift like yourself but set the max height so the car was just clear of the roof
ChrisB
That is a seriously fast looking dog.. The gold floor looks crazy.. until you drop a shiny bolt (or a headlight lol) - lost forever

evilscorp
Well the emulsion paint didn't dry I think its the sealant my dad gave me that is the issue so I have bought some PVA to try on the rest of the walls and see how the paint drys with that as a primer. Also bought this Should help cut down the time to primer the bodykit before wrapping.
