I was replying on Hugh's recent thread regarding the Rolling Stones latest offering and it got me thinking about other people's first music purchase, I'll start, add yours and let's see how diverse we all are :wacko::)

Anyone with anything cool is a total liar.

 

Everyone knows that all first music purchases are rubbish!

 

 

 

The first one I remember buying was The Housemartins - Caravan of Love

Awful really but at least they are classed as 'Indie' and Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) was a member of the band! :lol::lol:

Mine was Cars by Gary Numan, im not quite as old as you :lol:

We had just got our first electric record player. My Dad bought "My old man's a dustman" at the same time - Lonnie Donegan

That's what sounds strange now ... not every kid had access to a record player in those post war days ... I was 14 before I could afford a tape recorder, bought with money earned on my paper round ... it cost £14 and I was earning at the rate of 5 shillings a week ... so a full year's wages :lol:
