Where to buy replacement Brake pads

Hi guys,

I know its been ages since I've been on here (apologies) but life does that to you sometimes :drive1 I am having my car serviced soon and I get my oil from opie oil, so thats ok, but I know this time I will need brake pads. There is no way I'm doing it myself, but I would rather give the garage the right pads to replace rather than rely on an off the shelf which won't be up to it.

Anyone please tell me WHICH are the best pads for nonracing and WHERE to get them from?

Millions and zillions of thankyou's in advance :)

Try cs for EBC yellowstuff pads. I've just fitted them myself, good price from them aswell.

It's not that hard to do DIY. Hardest part was cleaning the old brake dust off the calipers, I used an old tooth brush for that. It's as easy as the guides on here make it look.

also after some EBC yellow stuff. Do they work well with the standad discs? Do they wear them down quicker i.e are the pads more abrasive if the stopping power is greater (which i presume they would be seeing as they are aftermarket parts, more expensive etc)

The Yellowstuff pads that we suppy have been fitted on Standard discs without any issues at all, we've been supplying and fitting them for over 6 years and they're not aggressive enough to reduce the wear of your discs any quicker... :)

If you'd like a set, please do let me know...

I'm looking to replace my pads, been searching around and the ds2500 seem to be popular, but somebody I know said they will eat through your discs really quick, any advice would be great, yes I know its a old thread :p

Lot's of choice for pads depending on budget, personal preference and ultimately what you want to do with the car you fit them too. Eg. Track use, fast road, sunday driver etc.

My set up that I used on my Zed before & after it was supercharged was...

  • Ferodo DS2500 brake pads
  • EBC turbo groove discs
  • Goodridge s/s braided brake lines
  • Motul RBF600 brake fluid

Never had any problems stopping my Zed on the road or under sustained hard use on track.

Never on my previous 350z or 370z with Ferodo DS2400, StopTech and Hawks, but I can see it happening on the GTR with the Pagid RS29 pads that are very dusty and very aggressive :)

StopTech are top quality parts, renowned / popular in USA, you can read about them here:

Same about Hawk Performance:

Do you notice much wear on the discs ?

As Adrian mentioned I'm the same, ....I never noticed any excessive disc wear whilst using the DS2500 pads. My Zed has been sold now but I'd wager money that the new owner is still running the same discs all round that I was even if he's worn out the pads by now. ;)
