leonk
Several weekends work! The trick was using scotch pads to get into every crevice.

glrnet
Several weekends work! The trick was using scotch pads to get into every crevice. Sounds painful Seriously, that was well worth the effort
leonk
Thanks Painstaking but I'm glad i did it. Gold on an Azure didn't seem to look right.
ianphampton
I painted mine with Hammerite Wire brushed, then cleaned with gunk, then warm water & fairy liquid, then cellulose thinnners It was a warm fine day and left to dry between each stage, then left overnight to dry so no dust stuck on Did it all without taking them off the car Not sure how many days you'll get now warm and fine - until springtime or unless you have a snug garage for the job
leonk
Hi Ian, looks good, missed you at the last Krispy Kreme! As you say not much chance of sunny weekends now.
Whazza22
Hours of cleaning, rubbing down and de greasing. VHT red paint , decals, and then VHT clear lacquer. Looks awesome, exactly how I want mine!! How easy was it to do?
rtbiscuit
just be careful of anything that isn;t a polymer based paint. it will if brake fluid gets on it, get damaged. if you do use either normal car paint or VHT paint swap to a silicone based brake fluid. this is not corrosive to non polymer paints. leonk
Whazza22 asked How easy was it to do? As with everything, end result directly proportional to amount of preparation. Just follow the advice myself and others have given.
Whazza22
Will have a bash at weekend Halfords sell a tin of caliper paint which has good reviews so might try that!
glrnet
Thanks Painstaking but I'm glad i did it. Gold on an Azure didn't seem to look right. I agree, that's why I had mine done Azure in powder coat
Dblock
If possible I personally think powder coating gives a better/more durable coating. More expensive and you cant do it at home though.
