T-I-G-G-E-R-Z
Hi all can this be said of new engine in the 370z gt from the abbey sport website would like to know if you can get a up rev for this engine The Nissan VQ engine equipped Z cars uses a very sophisticated engine management system , even fitting items like free flowing exhaust and air filter will not give any return in extra brake horsepower and torque. The ECU has the built in ability to self tune both the fueling and ignition and the car uses a fly by wire throttle system so this also control the bhp/torque in the lower gears by not allowing the throttle to be opened 100% in the 3 lower gears, 1st gear 65%, 2nd gear 70%, 3rd gear 80%. This would explain my 315 bhp on a recent rolling road day cheers Carl
Lexx
Yes. The VQ37HR can be tuned using UpRev

NeilMH
This would explain my 315 bhp on a recent rolling road day It might not -it depends in what gear those particular readings were taken. I think its also a case of a slower (rather than absolutely lower) throttle response in the first 3 gears - so if the throttle has been opened for a few seconds it may then give 100%. Abbey would know.
