VsoundZ
Hi Guys, I'm pretty new to the site and have just stumbled across these 'Tunnel Hatches' on a 'Z stuff' google hunting session. I haven't seen them before, but wondered what everyone's thoughts are. I reckon they look pretty naughty, but would probably get it colour coded to be honest This one is from Strosek and is 5000 and a bit Euros. However, VIS (USA) also do one (Strosek replica) for about $850 - i'd expect the delivery costs to be a bit steep though.
marzman
I quite like that. Never seen one before.
rtbiscuit
seen them before, but never seen one fitted in the UK, bit of a nod to the old MR2 mk2
DannyBoy
Just a word of warning: replica 'carbon' parts are very often a single layer of carbon with tons of fibreglass reinforcement instead of more carbon. This makes them not much lighter than the standard body parts, and as you were going to paint it anyway, you'd potentially be spending a lot of money to save like 10kg and have it look exactly like the stock hatch. I'm not saying you need to spend $5000 to get a real carbon one, but the really cheap ones are cheap for a reason DB

SteveW
Really like that. Think it would look awesome painted to match the rest of the car or if the car had a full carbon top half.

Actually makes perfect sense to do that to the window, as even plastic windows aren't light, or cheap. DB
rtbiscuit
what would finish that hatch off nicely is a window in the top of the hatch sat over a nice V8 all polished and painted up.
350Chris
I've been looking at these on and off for a while - really like the look of them. Most of the rear window on the zed is useless anyway - so may as well do away with the weight
glrnet
Expensive way to "lose" the rear wiper

I was going to email Andysautosport.com over in the US to see what the shipping would cost, but then I remembered they never bothered to reply to my last email which also related to shipping to the UK .... Flex
How much weight is saved from removing the rear wiper?
Tarmac@TarmacSportz
Yeah I can get the VIS one and your right shipping hurts as its BIG.. I wouldn't touch the Strosek because if it was damaged in transit I would be bankrupt
Wasso
How much weight is saved from removing the rear wiper? I think it's about 2kg
