Adrian@TORQEN
Awesome, Im considering doing this myself having seen one in action. Have you got a thread showing what you did and what you got?? No, not yet, but will add some description and photos when doing it, probably later this week, need to finish the engine bay first. I use Google/Asus Nexus 7 to replace the tablet I installed with Cookie last year, I've got some videos from when we were doing it, will post these as well. So far I've rooted the tablet, installed the apps listed in my first post, toghether with the usual - Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Instagram, etc, defined different layouts in the Chameleon Launcher, like Driving, Social, System etc, tested the tablet for about a week, works flawlesly, no crashes, nor any other problems. Next will take it apart and solder the buttons for Volume Up, Down and Power to the buttons in the satnav cubby in my old setup, stick the screen in the cubby with a plastic gun, link it to the power, connect Torque to the OBD port through Bluetooth, jack into the stereo system and we're good to go. and

Must admit, I've used it a couple of times on my iphone when driving other vehicles, seems pretty good

The Bounty Bar Kid
So you used the same holder for the nexus. Is it removable, permanent or did you strip the nexus to get it to fit?
Adrian@TORQEN
That is the old setup, I don't think I can squeeze it in as it is, need to strip the case. Will update when I get to it

Will update when I get to it Ah right! Thought you had already done it. Look forward to that. Would love to do the same with my nexus. But ideally I wanna make mine removable. Adrian@TORQEN
I'm more after a OEM look than mobility of the device, you can update and upload wireless on it, what's the point to remove it? I use the iPad for browsing and stuff when I'm not on the macbook

BulletMagnet
I'm kinda curious about the Nexus 7 myself now, especially after seeing that my local GAME store buys old iPhone 4 @ £150 and sells Nexus 7 @ £135, and happen to have an old iPhone 4 laying in a drawer
rabbitstew
I'm kinda curious about the Nexus 7 myself now, especially after seeing that my local GAME store buys old iPhone 4 @ £150 and sells Nexus 7 @ £135, and happen to have an old iPhone 4 laying in a drawer Thats not a bad price. Ive a nexus 7 i use at home quite a bit, but for my own android in car install, I opted for a cheapie chinese 7" android tablet instead. simply because the one I used has all on screen controls, whereas for the nexus 7 id have to solder up some external buttons. Also I think on the nexus 7 the glass is bonded to the screen and the circuit board inside is quite big, which makes the tablet a lot bigger than the actual screen itself. The tablet i used has literally no screen surround at all, the screen goes from edge to edge.
