Neilp
ive never researched NOS, what's the typical costings? Alot to get it running safely at a decent power without causing damage
docwra
Get some pics on photo bucket, it will look mean as fook that low. I'm sitting the width of an IPhone off the ground my sideskirts hit on Knockhill hairpin if I push hard, found out while annoying a couple of 911 turbos, alot quicker out the hairpin at knockers but not as impressive once I was moving again. They didn't like me that much that day lol. All down to the driver though. Here ya go, some under load, some unloaded.
Wasso
ive never researched NOS, what's the typical costings? Budget in the region of £2.5k but all depends on what type of install you go for. I went with a full luxury stealth affair. See my build thread. viewtopic.php?f=176&t=50472
Neilp
That looks sweet as btw! I'll be honest I never took to your car in precious pics but that looks mean as hell on track! Looks a little rolly, what suspension and aux parta are you running? How does she feel on those crazy offsets? Get some pics on photo bucket, it will look mean as fook that low. docwra
Its actually pretty amazing on track, the stupid wheels actually seem to work in harmony with the suspension and the grip is astonishing, Ive had 3/4 people get out with neck pain Ive done 4 or 5? track days with the car in its current state and dont remember getting overtaken by anything anyway It is a little bit soft I suppose but that suits the way I drive - I guess from drifting I use weight a lot more than most people Ive been out with, Im basically coming into most corners with the back stepped out, trail braking up to the apex and then feeding the power back on very quickly after the apex, again drifting has hardwired where the car is about to lose traction and with the size of the tyres as soon as you are winding lock back off you can floor it again. I had an awesome tussle with Horsham Jez at Bedford - considering his car is stripped, caged and uprevved (and hes a pretty shithot driver) and Im carrying about a hundredweight of filler and arches around with em I was pretty pleased Car is running HSD's set with about 80mm of droop, probably 1.5 degs camber on the front and 1 at the rear, standard caster and Im guessing a 45ishmm drop, 10J front wheels with 255 RE050A's, 11.5J rears with 285 RE050A's ......... and thats it, I cant even tell you what the exact alignment settings are as I dont want anyone touching them, its that good If you like those pics, did you see this one?? Neilp
Lol nice work mate. I'm dropped about 40mm just now on kw v3's an have been running a bit soft until recently. I think I'm about 2.5 degree neg camber on front and 3 at rear. Trail braking scares me Done back accident when overtaking coming into a corner and I filled my pants. Yeah Jez is pretty crazy on track with his! When I was on with him though at combe I had barely learned the track and the session was over so never got to play with him. I need to dial out some of the camber on the rear as coming out knockhills hairpin I'm struggling to plant power in a straight line. Probs take out about .5 degrees and see how it goes. Are you running upgraded arbs, I'm about to fit eibach arbs but getting worried I'm gonna be too hard and kill the handling in the wet. Mines drives perfect for me at the moment so I'm starting to think why change it.

docwra
Aye, if Im honest its unlikely Im going to mess with anything, when it was pissing with rain at Blyton I felt like I was only a little bit slower than in the dry and just as confident, which was nice. As you say going stiffer is going to compromise the wet handling and daily driving a bit, I was playing with the idea of some additional bracing rather than ARB's but Im pretty happy with it as is. Im very comfortable with the back trying to overtake the front - the technique is called shift lock in drifting and certainly since Ive got the bigger tyres on the back its the easiest way to initiate a drift unless Im already cornering ...... you just do it a bit less when you dont want to go ubersideways, if you H+T then the effect is considerably less pronounced as well Have you tried much other suspension apart from the V3's?? I know they are very highly rated but have always wondered how much better they are than an HSD or a Tein, for instance
