dmstewart
Evening all, Firstly, whilst I absolutely love my 350z along with many other cars I must be frank and admit that I know embarrassingly little about how stuff actually works, so please don't flame me! Was coming back on the motorway on Friday and noticed my exhaust noise had grown significantly, when I got it home I took a look and noticed that the connection (clamp?) between the muffler and the tailpipe wasn’t attached together anymore. Pic: Can someone confirm to me that this will be the cause of noise, and that I'm right in thinking it's not a major pain to fix? Something did hit the under carriage of the car on the motorway in the morning so I'm not sure if this helped cause the problem but can anyone explain why this has happened? Appreciate your help in advance. Darren
MITZ@CougarStore
Darren, that's a common failure point on the OEM exhaust, you can have a sleeve welded in place or we can supply you with a new replacement, link to website - http://cougarstore.co.uk/index.php?main ... cPath=1_10 The Cobra system we offer makes a great replacement for the Nissan system... MITZ@CougarStore
I would suggest the Cobra Resonated system, perfect replacement for the Nissan system, this one here - http://cougarstore.co.uk/index.php?main ... cts_id=113 Lots of images of the above fitted on our Facebook page, including a few videos too... Drop me a PM if you need any further info...
sukh13
I bought a Cobra resonated from Cougar last week, I had the typical break in the same place. The Cobra receives a definite thumbs up from me, deeper and throatier than the OEM, but not droning and loud like a chav exhaust (ignore the over zealous application of joint seal )

sukh13
One word of advice would be to swap all the clamps around so the bulky bit is at the top. Will hide them from view from behind.

theheff
Why are there so many clamps on it, surely it could have been welded and looked a lot better quality? Cobra was an option for me but I really don't like the look of those clamps. Can they be seen when on the car?

theheff
Doesn't look to bad on the car at all. Why do they not weld it all though and have as a solid unit?

Not having the tail pipe welded on gives you the freedom to ensure the tailpipe sits central to the bumper cutouts...
