Vik54
Silly question but what fuel are you using and have you checked your intake pipes for loose connections? ohh and using v max unleaded and that is as far as my mechanical skills go so got no hope of checking my intake pipes !! . It's a little difficult to judge on the detail given. If it's a brief hesitation that could be because of the way the standard car is programmed to have a lazy throttle response in the first 3 gears and an uprev re-map would help that (the car doesn't use a throttle cable - you pushing the throttle simply send a signal and the ECU then tells the engine/fuelling what to do). Equally, if you have some sort of after-market air filter, which is open to the elements inside the engine bay (ie. not inside a box)you can get some heat soak which can make the car hesitate when you put your foot down (that can be particularly noticeable in hot weather). If it's a really noticeable coughing and spluttering that would need to be looked into more. Good luck. It's pretty uncomfortable trying to drive it around town in heavy traffic at slow speeds due to the sparodic coughing and spluttering . But as soon as you are going more than about 25 mph then it's smooth as you like!!! Welcome to the forum You'll find it is probably just you getting used to the high biting point they are not happy cars at slow speeds if you're adamant there is something 'wrong' find your nearest independent specialist and get them to take it for a road test
