Guts
Hi guys , I've just bought a 350z facelift model and am loving it to bits.however I do have a small problem that I Need to get looked at - at low revs driving in town I am finding the car is coughing and spluttering occasionally but as soon as you give it some gas it's fine. I live in Swansea and was wondering if anyone could recomending a 350z specialist in my area Many thanks

4RE Leather
An uprev will soon cure that. I found the same thing especially as in my opinion the biting point of the clutch is quite high. You will soon get used to it especially if you have never driven one b4. Has it been regularly serviced? Good luck anyway:)

I am not 100% sure of the exact science of it but Abbey Motors did mine. Its like a remap specialy designed for the Zed and gives it a bit more go. I am sure some of the others will baffle you with there wisdom on this subject. Basically your putting steroids in your tank:)

NeilMH
Silly question but what fuel are you using and have you checked your intake pipes for loose connections? ohh and using v max unleaded and that is as far as my mechanical skills go so got no hope of checking my intake pipes !! . It's a little difficult to judge on the detail given. If it's a brief hesitation that could be because of the way the standard car is programmed to have a lazy throttle response in the first 3 gears and an uprev re-map would help that (the car doesn't use a throttle cable - you pushing the throttle simply send a signal and the ECU then tells the engine/fuelling what to do). Equally, if you have some sort of after-market air filter, which is open to the elements inside the engine bay (ie. not inside a box)you can get some heat soak which can make the car hesitate when you put your foot down (that can be particularly noticeable in hot weather). If it's a really noticeable coughing and spluttering that would need to be looked into more. Good luck.

It's pretty uncomfortable trying to drive it around town in heavy traffic at slow speeds due to the sparodic coughing and spluttering . But as soon as you are going more than about 25 mph then it's smooth as you like!!!
