Ewan27
Just buy a cassette adapter :-) Get a decent brand, Belkin and Sony are OK, and monster cable do one as well.

The Chubby Ninja
Is the jvc a straight swap? Do you need anything else to make it work? Its discontinued but the new model is near enough the same and still only £

brillomaster
Cheap and cheerful has gotta be a cassette adapter... and don't be confused into thinking the sound quality will only be as good as a tape deck, as it isnt... an adapter doesnt store any music on a magnetised tape, it just converts electrical signal from an ipod to a magnetic signal, which is instantly picked up by the reading head and converted back into an electrical signal, with no interference (unlike FM transmitters) Also, this setup allows you to retain the steering wheel controls for volume, whereas if you swapped the head unit, you'd need another £70 to connect up the steering wheel controls. Lexx
As already said - Just do the Bose hack. Easy to do and will cost you buttons compared to a new head unit.
jjt
Jvc 640 is just under 200, double din with usb, ipod etc I have one of these and its pretty impressive, and you dont need an inline booster because it has it built in. Is the jvc a straight swap? Do you need anything else to make it work? Its discontinued but the new model is near enough the same and still only £230 Just the cables talked about in these threads... viewtopic.php?f=35&t=58538 viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16403

ddcboyle
Jvc requires doubledin fascia, iso lead (make sure you get correct one if you have bose amp) and steering wheel control wire.
