The Chubby Ninja
I noticed in the manual that the paintwork on the zed is guaranteed for ten years or sumthing like that (cant quite remember). Would this cover a rust bubble under the paint on the roof? if it does how do you go about getting it done? Thanks guys
spursmaddave
I have seen a few posts on rust bubble on the roof by the windscreen and also on the bonnet near the catch being dealt with by Nissan under warranty... The search if FUBAR but if you search in google you might find a link to them
The Chubby Ninja
Thanks dave. Have you any idea how to go about getting it done?
spursmaddave
Thanks dave. Have you any idea how to go about getting it done? Just speak to Nissan HQ, be sure to mention the forum and that you know other members have had the same issue They will probably send you to a local dealer to assess the problem, only thing I could think might be a problem is if it is close to the windscreen and it has been changed as they could blame the fitter and the seal... The Chubby Ninja
Cheers. Its nearly in the middle so they cant blame the fitter although im sure theyl try to worm their way out of it somehow. Thanks for the advice dave
Ekona
Didn't someone have a similar issue with a rusty bonnet the other week, but when the small print was read it said that the warranty didn't apply until there was an actual hole? Or did I dream it?
The Chubby Ninja
Is the bonnet not aluminium? Ie doesnt rust
spursmaddave
I'm pretty sure a guy had bubbling on his roof and got it sorted under warranty, also someone with a bonnet that was bubbling from where the catch it attached got his sorted... Z-monster
I believe the warranty only covers you if its rust from the inside, out. I've found a bubble on my roof yesterday while cleaning - I'll be checking with Nissan soon, but I have a feeling if they pull the roof interious out the car and find its actually from outside in they'll lumber me with 14hrs of labour or something silly. Is there any way of telling if its inside out, rather than outside in?
The Chubby Ninja
Well my paints ok just bubbling from underneath so i think it must be from the inside
DaddyCee
I have a similar thing on my roadster which i have just noticed. Is there a department or better still a name at Nissan HQ to contact?
adymi16
I thought for any type of paint claim you had to have the paint work check ticked/signed at every 9000 mile service. Failure to get this done voids any warranty?
manphibian
I had a successful claim for a small bubble on the wing. Very happy with the service. Just go to the dealer and they'll take pics to send to HQ.
