I thought as long as it was done properly then powder coating was fine and generally considered more hard wearing, have I got that wrong? ben@RARE RIMS Posted January 23, 2013 Author Share Posted January 23, 2013 It's just down to the temperatures used to cook the powder coating. A light weight wheel is heat treated in the manufacturing process, if you then bake the wheels at hundreds of degrees for a long while it effects the structure.
