cmck13
Just thought I'd give a thumbs up to Crystals dealership at Lincoln, I know lincoln baggie has had good things to say about them and I couldnt agree more. I had a P3 service, supplying my own oils etc, the price came in at £204, however what was good was that I was able to chat to the mechanic before the service and clearly he was on the ball. I was first in at 08.30am and needed the car before 1pm they called me at 11.30 all work done. Further to this I told them before hand that my car was highly detailed and I did not want to find any scratches caused by the service. The lad came out and went over the car with me and was quite happy to do so. Well there you go no problems at all with them and quite happy for you to bring your own oils etc.
introspect
Took the Zed to Lockwood and Greenwood in Manchester today for a P3 and MOT. Top class service as usual. Free courtesy car and was kept informed of progress throughout the day. Cost was £233 for the service and MOT supplying own oil and brake fluid. Also had my Samco coolant hoses fitted while I was there so total bill was £315. I would highly recommend these guys, very nice guys, forum discount and no messing about. Top job
garetgax
I can concur on 1146ben's suggestion of TRD as we've dealt with Ian at TRD in the past he serviced and tuned our MR2 and GT4 and he is a first class mechanic and generally decent guy. didn't realise he looked after other models but for general servicing I know he'll do a decent job. Our zed is due for its P1 and will be giving Ian a call as £223.00 for a basic service is daylight robbery. Unless theres a nissan specialist round our way I think well be sending our zed to Ian. choptop
Platinum Nissan at Box (Near Bath) top dealer. Bought my first 350z Roadster from them. Popped in recently to get a crush washer for the engine sump nut as I was doing an oil change. They gave me it. I know it cost pence but thought it a nice gesture
JMRolfe
Hello Does anyone have any recommendations around Portsmouth area (couldn’t see any in the list)? I’m at 5 years and 54,000 miles so I think I need a P2? Am I right in expecting about £250 for the P2 service? I’ve phoned two local garages but they’ve told me they wont service a 350z : ( White Rose in Petersfield is the nearest Nissan deal and they said they’d call back. The last two times they said that they never did tho… Cheers, James
garetgax
Car back from Ian at TRD had its P1....top quality service using millers and oem filters etc. Forum members cost for a p1 £120.00 .
Ibsley
Holdcroft Nissan, Crewe - Not good Took mine in to them first thing on Monday morning for a P2 and MOT. Courtesy car for the day. 4.30pm got a message to say that it's ready to collect. When I got there, the receptionist says 'It's been serviced Sir and it has passed the MOT but you will need to replace the brake pads as soon as possible. The fronts are 95% worn'. Pardon? Should this not have been done during the service? Perhaps a courtesy call to ask me if I don't mind spending another £350ish (£152 fronts and £190 rears) but it should have been done, but when I asked the question, I was told that they don't carry them in stock! Perhaps not, but most reputable and customer orientated dealers would have sourced them within a couple of hours. Now I have the inconvenience of having to find another spare day to have the work done (it won't go back to Crewe). As a side note here, a local independent who I trust has quoted to do all four corners with Ferodo pads for £150 fitted! I have asked him to price up Nissan pads though. JMRolfe
HIQ in Portsmouth - Good service. £250 Full service including spark plug change (seemed to include all P2 and P3 points?), service performed by ex Nissan technician (if that makes a difference) - They did say they wouldn’t be happy changing the plugs on it if he wasn’t in. MOT on top of service for £30 extra. Recommended a pad change on MOT but still passed it, did call to ask if I wanted it done whilst they did the service, total cost £151 and would take two hours to source the parts as they weren’t stocked. Bruce Lee
Just had my 07 350 serviced at JFE in Exeter. Experienced a great service - but be warned they wanted £440 for a P2. I explained that I wouldn't pay that much and they reduced it to £290 and free 12 month RAC cover straight away. Very helpfull and friendly - will go back to them. However: They wanted £210 for each 050a that I needed - which I didn't buy as I got them down to £146 each at Save on Tyres. and £450 for a new back box as it had split at the flange - got the flange cut off and a pipe section weilded in for £30 again at Exeters save on tyres. I believe that this frang issue is common with all 350's??
Southernspeed
Abbey Motorsport in Oxted. Big thumbs up! P3 service + trans oil and spark plugs, front suspension bushings, rear drop links, clicky axle fix, new wiper arms and blades, dent removed from tailgate, sump guard bolts drilled out, front discs and pads all round plus a tuning package with Y pipe, decats, plenum spacer, filter and UpRev. Awesome service from start to finish and a courtesy car. Thanks Abbey
4RE Leather
As above, Dan Perkins Slough are bad. Or whatever they're called now. Bodgit n Lye or something. Dan Perkins have all been bought out by WLMG:(
4RE Leather
Brincars - Cannock. Service OK but not very good at getting details right. Once, arranged for the car to be collected for service, no show, said I was delivering. Just had P3, they rang to say my MOT was due & I said I asked for that to be done at same time. Car is never cleaned when returning. Only issue I had was locking nut socket missing when I had a tyre go, they said it would have been in 1 of the cubby holes - never was. Complained to the manager & he said its out of warranty. Had to buy new one with no offer of anything from the Manager. Why would you want some 18 yr old YTS boy to clean your car out back with a crappy sponge full of rocks scrape it across your car I used to explicity state DO NOT CLEAN MY CAR, and used to go mad when it can back dripping wet On this topic, West Way Nissan in Birmingham: -Tried to leave me stereo-less when replacing my skipping bose -Scratched my centre console when taking the bose out. -scratched my RAYS by putting them face down on the floor -Ripped the inner door card by leaving the seat belt extended and then slamming the door -When replacing my bose they wrongly reconnected my heater cables, so after spending an hour in the managers office kicking off about all of the above I angrily jumped in my car and sped off. I immediately noticed that the heaters were set to full power and maximum heat with no way whatsoever of being able to turn them down or off!! So now I was fecking fuming AND roasting my tits off!!!! 30 seconds later I'm back at the desk ready to petrol bomb the whole place The heater thing is a standing Joke with Nissan spanner Vankers. WLMG Shepperton turned mine up full blast one summer day when I read the Service Manager the riot act for being a complete Dip stick
4RE Leather
Have added Crystals in Lincoln as very good - they've had my Zed twice now - once to check an engine light code which they did and fixed for free when I popped in, and once for a P2 service when the whole experience was very good (from chatting to the sales guys about the new 370 to the technician who came out and asked me all about the car and what I wanted doing in addition to the basic service etc). Very good price (£184.13) and excellent free coffee. They even changed the brake fluid for free and mentioned the worn rear wiper blade but suggested I get it from elsewhere as their prices were "ridiculous". I skidded on the motorway. The wipper blades were ripped. Plus it was an ex lease vehicle and had not had the 1st service at 18months rendering the Warranty useless. They put new tyres all round put their own warranty on it and gave me £500. I kept it for 18 months and did it up so you could eat your dinner of it and sold it to a Nissan dealer 2 years later adding 20000 miles on the clock for £1500 more than what I paid for it:) Then the next day they sold it for almost £3k more than what they gave me for it and the blokes well happy:)

4RE Leather
Going to post a warning now. Most will know already but some will not. Quite a few of the Nissan dealers on the list subscribe to the "Nissan buy back Scheme" This means they have 1st option on ex lease or hire after the lease term is up. Unless you ask b4 you buy you won't know until you get the log book back. I have had 2 vehicles like this (My fault) However you need to check the service book. If the service schedule has not been adeared to ie 9000 for Zed and 18000 for pathfinder Your engine will not be covered by warrantee. I was told this after phoning Nissan UK Rickmansworth. One of the reasons I am swoping my zed is that the 1st service was not done until 12500 miles. the 18000 mls was missed and the next one was done when I bought it as 26000. plus I found it was a ex lease. But to be fair the dealership have found me a none lease car, and as individuals they are really nice people. thenoname
jmh
Has anyone tried Co-op (used to be Sunwin) at Nottingham recently. The last post was in 2007 and negative. I just wondered as I've been offered an good deal to go there??? Either that or back to trusty Fish Bros in Swindon, where I bought the car. The service manager always gives me a 10% discount. Good service as well. The trouble is, is that it is a 200 mile round trip. Hmmmm.....!
Testroom
WLMG SLOUGH AND MILLHILL - ATTEMPTED RIPOFF. Shame that despite all the praise both dealerships have received on this thread I have to report some less than great feedback. + Full Geometry check: Price quoted in this forum = £80 inc adjustments, reported in the thread http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=53969 go see for yourself, it is not a long thread. I rang up Slough yesterday and after a brief wait on the phone got quoted 75 + VAT and then £15 per wheel adjustment = a grand total / nice tidy sum of £150. I then rang up MillHill expecting a price similar to that reported in this thread http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=53969, where the lady on the phone could not give me a price right away and rang me back after 15mins with an identical price. Rang up another Nissan dealership and third time lucky price quoted immediately, with no pauses, 89 inc VAT inc adjustments & labour. It means that 2 garages charge more than the third. You will probably find that the 3rd garage is looking for business.
4RE Leather
Full Geometary test and 4 wheels balanced on my Zed that I got from WLMG £75 from RSR Ullswater trading estate Slough. WLMG do not have the laser alignment equipment that RSR have. So I think they may contract the work out and lump a bit on for themselves. In this case a good deal. The ramp that lifts the car into the air and you put a checkered octangle looking checkered patterned paddle on each wheel, and the machine throws a laser at each wheel simulatiously and gives a colour code REd it's out of tolerance. Green it's in. Then it's just a matter of turning the nut on the camber arm left or right until the red turns to green and fine tune. I did do a post on it. WLMG put 2 new tyres on both the Zeds i got from them and both cars had not been balanced. I even watched the guy at Shepperton do my Nissan Pathfinder. He span the wheel. Put the weights on then instead of spinning the wheel again, he went to take it of to put it on the vehicle. I made him spin it again and it was 5 grams out of balance. I would only use them for Warranty work. PM if you want details. I am away until Monday midday but it would pay to travel. I do get trade discount, but I am sure if you tlet other members know where you are they will steer you on the right track. Incidently in Grimsby my mate runs a coach company. The drivers are always smacking the wheels and he gets charged £90 for every coach!! You are having the pee taken out of you at those prices. Chris`I
As I said in the other thread - the usual pricing down South is about £75 to check geometry and then 15-20 quid to correct anything other than minor tweaks. This is standard practice. I was quite supprised when Peter got it for £75 all in, I think they may have made a mistake, but once they quote they have to stick to it Also common practice for dealerships not to have the equipment to do a lot of the work - they will contract it out at trade prices and then add a bit for themselves, so can come in cheaper than going direct to the place. Havent heard of RSR in Slough Trading Estate though. I know Pro Tyre are there, they did a puncture repair for me and did a very good job. I know they have a lazer alignment machine and are Pirelli Performance Centre approved.
4RE Leather
Correction Guys. RSR Coulsdon on the Ullswater estate. Think thats because we were slating WLMG Sough at the time :)No mistake on the price as we took a lexus 600 hybrid down and got charged the same. I got trade as my mate owns a company called Performance Sports Cars and they let me off the balancing and just charged for the Alignment. I get Trade myself as before I got to ill to work I restored leather car interiors (4releatherrestoration) more as a hobby as I never knew what to charge people. The only colour I will touch now is black and thats my own as they are simple to do. anyway going off topic. Not sure about the true cost of tyres but I paid £803 for the 2 x 275/40/18's and 2 x 240/45/18's no charge for balancing or taking a brand new tyre of another Ray. I give them a drink and I think if you look after people they will look after you. Unfortunately RSR have been taken over so the odd little exhaust rattle repair or quick pad change has had to stop. I even have a guy who used to work for RSR (Bruce) who if you give him enough work will charge £30 per wheel instead of going rate of £50 to smooth out those flying pavement attacks:) Really must read over my posts as i confuse myself let alone anyone else. Oh any cures for gear nob rattles? I got a carbon Nismo (£80) and at certain revs it sounds like a leaf flapping in the air vent! The trip to Preston wore the tyres in this weekend and well pleased. Chris`I
With respect the Nismo knob, remove it and see if there is a loose washer/spacer in there. IIRC the OEM has a spacer of some kind that you should remove when fitting the Nismo, but it does still fit which means quite often its left on by accident. This can cause a rattle, it did in mine
