michker
My 03 JDE has developed over the last 12 months an annoying rattle from the DM Flywheel. A couple of questions, I have heard that these can on occasion "let go" and cause some damage. And are there any benefits or drawbacks from going to a solid/lightweight flywheel. Cheers Mike. taffyjason
Im looking at getting a single mass flywheel myself, from what the guys say on here it helps the engine rev more, but you get more noise/rattle than standard set up. As to what they are like to live with i don't know, i'd expect more stalling!
Sam Mcgoo
i'd expect more stalling! Your doing well if your managing to stall a 3.5 v6 on anything other than the rarest of occasions. A lightened flywheel will give you faster response and acceleration. However the downside is the noise and it will be a little less smooth when on and off the throttle. michker
mmm thanks for the advice on that, don’t think the wife would be too pleased with a jerky ride so maybe stick to the DM... What abount the existing one failing completely.. is this a possibility of will it just get noisier? Mike
