skidder
Evening, I wonder if you could all give me a helping hand with a question please? I am in the midst of purchasing another 350z.I've just been sent copys of all the history, paperwork etc. On one of the services this year there is a hand written note on the top of the receipt stating... "Oil - approximately 15+35 PSI at idle when warm." Just wondered if this would be correct as it just seems a bit odd hand written on the top of the invoice. Sounds OK but I'm not entirely sure. thanks in advance, Chris
Wasso
I think 20-30 is fine, but if lower it normally indicates a little low on oil. It's how I monitor my oil levels if not checked for a while.
skidder
Cheers Wasso, I've also got an advisory on the last mot that states 'offside rear shock absorber has a slight mist of oil'.This MOT was last November. I presume the shock would have to be changed on the next mot? I guess its best to do both sides? Also any idea on the cost on both shocks at a decent independant garage? cheers in advance again! Wasso
I wouldn't have a clue to be fair. You'd do best picking up a set of used shocks on the forum and getting them fitted. Funny enough I have a full set of oem shocks and springs including Eibach Pro springs still fitted to my old shocks.
ZMANALEX
You will probably find that the advisory at last MOT will not even be mentioned at next MOT However, if you require shocks I have plenty low mileage examples in stock. I also have brand new if you wish to go that route. Regards the oil psi, I would not worry about what was written, however I would be paying particular attention to what the oil pressure is now. skidder
Thank Alex. How do I check the oil pressure.Do I let her warm up and then check?(obviously its on the gauge above the Naff SAT NAV) He states shes running at 40 PSI when warm.I guess this would be OK? I'm going to purchase her on tuesday so any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers all. Chris

From the gauge, check psi from cold on initial start up at the same time keeping an eye on the oil warning light. Check psi on tick over from cold and hot. Check psi when driving at various RPM. Alex Cheers for that Alex. Obviously I can check the dodgy dip stick when cold and hopefully it should be at maximum. What i'm not sure on is what the PSI should be at the various stages.i.e on, hot and when driving. Can you help me out here. cheers, Chris
ATTAK Z
What I'm not sure on is what the PSI should be at the various stages. i.e on, hot and when driving. Chris 60 psi @ 60 mph in 6th gear is the rule of thumb
