Ok so we fired up the BBQ today.........

bbq2.jpg

So we have, Fresh Salmon, BBQ Ribs, Pork Chops, Spicy Italian Sausages, Burgers and Steak, all washed down with a few beers B)

OMG.... I am never cooking in the oven ever again :#1:

so cost of that little lot here would be over £30 methinks ? (i don't do the shopping though)

what was the equivalent cost there Jim ? (just to make us all even more jelous) :surrender:

I think it was about $20-$25 bucks, so that's about £15 :teeth:

...... It would be even cheaper if you pop across the border in to the US :band:

Judging by the sausage you showed me the other day....

You are going to need a bigger BBQ :scare:

Funny thing is whilst on face time he suddenly tilted his camera towards his crotch, at this point I was a little worried what was next on the conversation list....

Luckily he said "this is the first time I've worn jeans in over a month"

Phew! :surrender:

Here is our walnut tree......

critters01.jpg

As you can see its not small, and for those who have never seen a walnut on a tree, they look like this.....

critters02.jpg

The tree was absolutely groaning with them.... until some fecking critters decided they were ripe for the picking and have completly stripped the tree in one week scared.gifranting.gifangry.gifcc_surrender.gifdry.gif

So just for Ricey, as I know he's a bit of a fan of Nut Munchers lol.gif

I present the culprit..The Black Squirrel, much like the Grey one, but these are bigger and far more acrobatic.

Bang goes my "pickled walnuts" for christmas thumbdown.gif

How about a wide sheet band of steel around the base of the tree, good luck trying to climb that. Works over here for possums.

I have thought about that for next year, but the little gits don't climb up it, they leap a good 4ft from the trees behind and to the right :scare:

The only time you see them on the ground is scavenging for ones they have dropped.

My Dad has a Walnut tree in Hungary, he doesnt have black squirrels which is good ;)

So we get a sack of Walnuts every year :p

You were the one who decided to live in the country, you are pinching the squirrels grub, it would be unfair to deprive him of his grub.

Trim the surrounding branches. A mere 4ft is nothing of a long branch.

Do that and i'll use my squirrel contacts to import some squirrel sized trampolines to aide their nut stealing forays!

A squirrel needs his nuts!
