ashyk36
Looked everywhere but cannot find an answer. Wondered if anyone knew approximately how many miles the front OEM brake disks last driving city driving? ( No track days, hardly any motorway driving. Cragus
How long is a piece of string. What type of pads, how often you drive and how many miles are all factors that will change the lifespan of discs.
ashyk36
Are there any recommended life spans from manufacturers?
Dblock
Are there any recommended life spans from manufacturers? not really just thickness and condition usually. You cant really put a number on it. If you feel a "lip" on the discs its time to pm the zman.
bronzee
If you come in for a landing and don't stop gently consistently, then they'll wear really fast. Also if you have a tiptronic and don't use the manual gears, maybe heavier on brakes too. More to the point, why are you asking? Are you looking at other non-OEM options? ZMANALEX
If you confirm whether Brembo or JDM I will post up the original and minimum thickness dimensions for you, and you can then measure your rotors and compare. There is no recommended mileage for rotor wear as so many different factors must be taken into consideration. Alex
M13KYF
was speaking to one member the other day and he'd was on 56k on his original discs but were getting ready for a change. It is down to driving style though so it is piece of string scenario
