sunshine
My car's got gremlins under the bonnet. It seems to have developed an intermittent fault where it misfires under load. It drives fine under light acceleration however when i put my foot all the way down there's loads of vibration and the car feels like its lost 100bhp. idle also seems erratic and there's a strong smell of petrol when cold. The cel light starts flashing sometimes, ive done a pedal dance and found the code 303 pops up, 'cylinder 3 misfire' My initial thoughts are the ignition coil could be on its way out, are these replaced individually and the same for each cylinder? how much do they cost? I say it intermittent because sometimes it's absolutely fine then sometimes its like crap. need to get it sorted because im doing a 600 mile round journey in a few weeks. cheers chaps. Check the cam covers haven't leaked oil on to the plugs, which then in turn knackers the coil pack.
