Bobbyheinz
Hey guys, my Dad has a 2003 Nissan X Trail Sport. He's been having major problems with it for some time. When you start it up from cold, it works fine. However, if you stop, leave it for any more than a few minutes and then start it up, the engine keeps cutting out. It's been to various garages and the MAF sensor's been replaced and the fuel pump. None of them seem to be able to solve the problem. Would anyone have any ideas on what's up? Bobbyheinz
Haha must be it Nah, sadly it's definitely fuelled up. It just seems a mystery to everyone!
Ekona
Dodgy wire somewhere. When cold it's all nice and together, when the engine is warm it expands and cuts out intermittently. Look for any sign of damage to the main cabling running in the engine bay to and from the battery, especially anything that runs near the exhaust manifold area. Just a guess, but those are the lines I would look along.
Bobbyheinz
Thanks Ekona, I'd hope the various garages would have checked that but will have a look!

Andy75
Got to be camshaft position sensor? Read any codes out of it yet? Our '55 plate SVE DCi hasn't missed a beat in 3 years, has been a great motor (now touching wood..no not that kind )
R35LEE
We just had one in last week that had the same symptoms. I think it was an Injector issue and fuel pump issue. Looked like Nissan Dealer had been in the tank before an caused further problems If you want exact problem and fix PM me and I will get the file out on the car
