MarkZZZ
Morning All, Have any of you experienced this before? When stuck in traffic after a long run on the Motorway with stop start traffic, my clutch pedel becomes very spongy. Usually the pedel has friction through the whole range but after time in traffic with lots of use you can depress the pedel half way down without any friction at all. The only bight is at the very bottom of the motion. Any ideas please guys? Many thanks Mark
Keyser
I'm gonna guess fluid needs changing, maybe slave cylinder. What year/engine?
ZMANALEX
If your car is a VQ35DE then if you replace the clutch slave cyl. and fluid and fit a braided clutch line then that should sort your problem. All parts in stock and good to go same/next day Alex
Neilp
If you search there has been a few threads on the last couple of weeks about this plenty of info already on here for clutch issues as the cara are getting older you can imagine most problems have been found and discussed many times now

twobears
Alex, please can you PM me the same info? I'm going away for a few days and then the roof issues are supposed to be being sorted before I think about the clutch but I would like to know how much I am looking at for the bits. Thank you

Paddy78
I've just replaced my Slave Cylinder / Clutch Line / Fluid (Parts from The ZMAN) The pedal feels so much nicer now!
MarkZZZ
I'm confused I'm now being told by a local indi that as there are no signs of fluid leaking from the slave it is more likely to be the Master?? I've been quoted £325 for Nissan Parts and Labour? As it only does it when it's really hot and under constant use I don't know what to do for the best. Nissan have also told me it's the Master???? HELP!!!
ZMANALEX
Your clutch issue is not caused by fluid loss. There is a 1% chance that it is the master cyl. Please read all the replies that you have received from members who have previously had this issue. I have clutch master cyls in stock if you prefer to go with Nissan's diagnoses. Ekona
I was in that 1%, and it cost me more to go back and get the master changed as well due to how long it takes to bleed the clutch then if I'd just changed both in the first place. Change both slave and master at the same time, the extra part is peanuts in relation to the overall cost.
MarkZZZ
Hi Alex, Believe me mate I trust you far more than those at Nissan just confused. The indi garage quoted me £90 just for a fluid change? Does that sound about right? And 2.5 hours for the Master change? I think I'll phone them and cancel the master change if it's only a 1% chance. Is that the concensus of you all???? Thanks Alex

Thanks Alex I think that will be the concensus of 99% of us Those prices quoted are excessive: It will take circa 30 minutes to swop out the slave, line and fluid and that includes flushing and bleeding the system Alex
