dancecommander
Has anyone put performance headers on? how long did it take and if it was at a garage what did they charge? The last part would help most if someone in Scotland has had it done, dont wanna travel that far. Cheers.

dancecommander
Yeah, ive seen that, some have also said its possible to work around it but its definatly beyond me.
Dblock
Most people recon this is an engine out job!!! You CAN do it in the car. But its a pain in the back side. I'd budget about 10-18 hours.
Ian
Most people recon this is an engine out job!!! Its not, but its easier. Mine took around 10 hours to fit with engine left in place.

ZMANALEX
I have done a few, some with engine in and some with engine out. Why are you considering replacing the headers? Alex
DannyBoy
Basically does bugger all unless you are FI too doesn't it.... Paired with the right set of cams they have been shown to give good N/A gains, but of course when you add up cams, headers and fitting costs you're most of the way to a Vortech. ds2000
^ as above. I have considered doing mine but the idea of another 10-12 hours under my car fills me with dread.... for a few weeks at least

spursmaddave
i saw a video claiming 40bhp on changing headers on a VQ... Well you can get 10-12 bhp from a K&N apparently

I don't think it quite works like that Darren-B fitted his S/C in a couple of days that has to rank amongst the best hours vs gains

dancecommander
Won them at auction on ebay and since it was a cheap win i figured why the hell not, little did i know that they where gonna be a b*tch to fit. Dunno what brand they are really should of asked they guy but the auction had nearly ended. I tryed looking last night at others for referance might be DC but canna be sure. Shot at 2012-06-13 That should be a pic.
Dblock
They are DC sport copies. Casting and inside quality isnt as nice as DC's. They also aren't ceramic coated. Some people say they will crack but a few members ran them on here fine.
Ian
DC's will have a plaque on them ^^ Like that I'd be very wary of fitting cheap non branded headers though. Its a big job, If you buy cheapy ones that crack then your paying the same labour again to remove them
