There are stats kicking around (scuse the pun) that show that for around 35-40 minutes of a 90 minute match the ball is actually dead and not in play. That said, England do have this ability to sometimes pull a great performance out the bag. Thinking specifically when we did the Germans 5-1, the Dutch 4-1 and when we put the Argies out 1-0.
