sipar69
Ohhh I know the feeling (except it was my fault the last time). When we had our first 370 I gave my other half a hard time for curbing the wheel a few weeks in, only to go and do it myself a few weeks later. Not sure if your car has the same colour Rays as the Black Edition? If so, good luck finding anyone to refurb them to an acceptable standard. I've just had all mine repainted due to the difficulty getting anyone who can properly match the finish on Black Ed Rays (will post some pics soon). yep - same colour OK. Didn't mean to be negative btw - hopefuly you will have better luck than me - I'm sure it's possible to get a good colour match if the refurb people know what they're doing. (The wheels on the Z are such a big part of the look that I can't stand to leave them with damage on.) when i looked at my Black ed. the first thing i noted was a scuff on the alloy. when i picked her up the garage had repaired it and had done a very good job. it was a very good match. bristol nissan BTW. Good to know - in fairness exact same thing happened when we got ours - there was a scuff on one wheel which the dealer had repaired (shame you always have to ask!) and it looked good. Strange thing was I went with the same people more recently and got a less satisfactory result. Big issue is that there is no paint code for the wheel colour so they have to match it by eye. (Also found out when I had them repainted this week that the original refurb people had put the tire on inside out - didn't even know that was possible! )
Voodoo Vix
Get her to pay for a new one (not a refurb) that would make her think again about "its only a wheel" - I know I should probably stand by a woman, but that would **** me off too and I would make the culprit pay for the damage no matter who it was! RisingPower
Isn't the tyre sidewall rim protector sticking out far enough to stop that happening?
HEADPHONES
You think that's bad. A few weeks ago the wife managed to reverse our KIA Sportage out of the drive via the garden wall She said she reversed and stopped near the wall put it into 1st and it "slipped out of 1st INTO reverse " I had the driveway entrance widened to nearly 2 and1/2 car widths years ago so that we could reverse out easier in one manoeuvre too! I've no idea how she managed it. 1. You have to lift a switch on the gear knob before engaging reverse is possible 2. On engaging reverse it gives a warning beep. And best of all 3. ITS GOT BLEEDING PARKING SENSORS! Heard of slipping out of gear into neutral but never back into 1st Anyway, not even a year old and a cracked bumper, balloon sized dent in tailgate and scratched rear quarter panel
Madmarky
Sorry to see this mate total bad luck. If you fancy a drive Wheel Genie in Huntingdon can sort it out no probs. If there is a bit of a issue with colour match like others have said just get both wheels on that side repainted. You wont realise if they are not exactly the same as the other side then. The G Man
This should make you feel grateful My wife has scuffed TWO of my alloys AND put a F*CKING BIG SCRAPE on the front of the bumper!!!!!!!! Not a sorry or guilty conscience, just a, well, shrug of the shoulders and a "it's only a car" remark!! Hanging is too good for her, it's a great BIG kick up the erse she needs PS the bumper is all fixed
Chris AME
Ask her if you can borrow her handbag and record her reaction (probably what the #### do you want to borrow it for) on your phone and play it back to her every time she asks to borrow your car

Daveb99
Ouch! Just read through this topic and I sympathise hugely, this has happened to me twice, both times with polished alloy wheels (nightmare to refurb and impossible to repair). Needless to say my reaction was the opposite of mild mannered
rogerxp
It's horrible scuffing alloys, I've done mine a couple of times now, but can't be arsed doing anything about them (they're not too bad). On a plus point with your dark alloys, surely some dust/dirt from the road will cover up them scuffs no problem, might as well leave them as you're bound to dink them again . Couple of wifey driving stories... Back in 2006, she was the token driver whilst we were out with friends, and we took the Maserati, coming home with 4-up in the car, she went to spin the car around in a wide junction only to belt both kerbs on either side of the road. Was actually very funny, I didn't care much for that car, so wasn't too bothered. Then in 2007, pregnant with our Daughter (our unborn child was blamed!!), I was due to take her 206cc in for an MOT so she was taking my 335i into work, she moved the cc off the drive and parked it opposite our driveway, then promptly reversed the 335i off right into her cc that she's just moved so it'd be safer . Couldn't be 'too' angry as she was in floods of tears. Ironically, she's actually a very good driver, just had a couple of moments. She only drives the Zed if she absolutely has too . Anyway, I can't talk, I clipped my rear wheelarch on the narrow access to my office carpark - mostly will polish out but might need a tiny touch-up. Bugger. ioneabee
to add to yours Roger - she drove into a big stone pillar in a previous car (ford escort) driving into a school car park (she's a music teacher) and then on the way out hit the opposite one, so did both sides of the bumper in 1 day
Sarnie
That is seriously not funny. And then sites her 'letting' you go to Wales as a redeeming factor
