06-07 am lookinn for. Rev up. HR was 57' onwards wasnt it the 313. I want the facelift but the budget will only get me a rev up lol well, wht i want to pay a month anyway. And yes.... I am paranoid lol

313HR was may 07 onwards, so you`ll get them on 07 plates onwards.

I had a look on Autotrader earlier and for your budget you should have no problems getting a HR model. If you can afford the extra road tax id definitely go for one, they are loads better to drive than the earlier models. Nissan spent a lot of time on improvements.

Dear lord..............

I know, i know....sorry lol

Ok, on the finance thing... spent a decent amount of time talking to my m8 who works for a bank on better ways to pay the car. Namely among such is a loan, which is cheaper and would also let me incorporate my credit card thing and be paid off pretty quick...so think i'll be looking down that route..so thats fine.

In terms of the car... I know it sounds stupid but... I want some sort of comeback... so kinda (even tho probably dearer) would like a main dealer of some sort and some sort of warranty. Preferrably Alex Noble n' son Edinburgh but anyone would do, even another company. With little 'dealers' i don't see much of a come back if somesthing up. Whereas (done it before) main dealers usually are a bit more helpful-ish. I may be being hugely paranoid but... well, I don't have a lot of techy know how so...if something goes i'd like a bit of a warranty somewhere.

I suppose I could buy private and then buy a warranty? Anyone ever done that and got a decent one? I hear good things about that 'quentin wilson' warranty direct thingy?

*And yep Tranquill I did see that one, but obviously a bit worried due to it being a 'wee dealer'. How much d'you think I could get that down to, cos i would not want to pay £12K, I'd want a 'bit' off that to make it a bit more managable. About £11 really is most im wanting to pay..and then take the 2K for my car off it.

* EDIT - Sorry just looked at the site...new cars etc too, maybe not such a 'wee' dealer lol*

Cheers for the help again...and the patience!

If I have to buy from a dealer I'd FAR rather deal with a 'wee' dealer than an Arnold Clark type affair.

Warranties ain't worth the paper they are written on..........IMO, and you can never trust anyone that sells you a car to honour what they say to you when your buying it.

Oh yes sir, that's covered under our warranty.............

They will always tell you what you want too near.

On autotrader thers a dealer that seems to have bought a pile of em. Theres like 8 odds for sale from the same one n they all look mint. Only issue i have with major travel is... I need to drive down to let thm see the the coupe to let me know how much they'll give me for it, then drive bk home then back dwn to pick up. Bit of a pain when a lot are like 250-300 miles

You don't have to type all your thoughts out though!:lol::lol::lol:

I don't understand, when you buy a car you take a chance. Always. I'd rather have the cash in my pocket so that if the clutch (as an example) does go I can replace it. Dealers and warranty companies can go out of business at the drop of a hat and then you are left with no benefit anyway.

Re Alex Noble, I went window shopping there last weekend. They've got no 50's, just 2 70's and a few of these bad boys!! I just couldn't decide which one!!

Re their warranty and after sales, they are not good. Other half bought his scooby from their Subaru branch in Penicuik, and he's had no end of problems with them. He's now taking his car to a Subaru specialist. Most recent issue was a recall from Subaru to check something or other. Nobles checked and said it was ok, then sent him a letter saying it wasn't and to return the car for the part to be changed. He phoned them and they said sorry it was a mistake, the part doesn't need changed. At the start he had an issue with the turbo, took it back, they looked at it, changed the sparks, charged him a fortune and didn't fix the turbo issue!!

Hmmm, fair enough. ok then.... buying a warranty from warranty direct or something. Just to give me a years peace of mind into it. worth it? If i'm gonna do a loan, probably will think very seriously on private but.... yeah..the warranty issue thing. hm. Any suggestions? Although i could use my head... get a loan thats 2 grand more than i need...and keep it so to speak (as ill be paying the loan) for any unseen hitches? (usually a gooood saving on what i would have taken out for a dealer price).

What will you need the warranty for?

Do your homework before you buy, then you should be alright. I bought my car from Arnold Cack, they gave me the hot coffee routine, off to speak to the manager several times, tried to sell me a warranty, servicing package, told me all about Treating Customers Fairly, but I knew that I could walk away. Its my money, they needed to prove their worth that they deserved it. I said I was having a dekra check. They said the mechanic would need to bring his own ramps, as they wouldn't allow him to use theirs. Basically a right bunch of @@****. Anyway, I've had the car 2 years, and apart from one of the battery terminals working itself loose - no problems.

Check service history, how does it look, how does it feel, how does it drive, does it check out ok, and are you willing to part with your money for it. You'll be fine.

Dude, things dont tend to break on 350's, itsz more clutches, brakes and tyres and you wont get a warranty to cover them. Just buy the car and enjoy it, worry about fixing it when it breaks. Hell, Ive got 10 cars, if I worried about them breaking Id never get anything else done.

Or of course you could buy something cheaper and more reliable - Ive heard good things about those Hyundai Coupes, cant remember where though ;)

..... Cos i'm a paranoid bas....lol

Spose your right, the Coupes are generally good... but i had bad luck with the c;utch release bearing... had to do it myself.. so meh. Only thing i had done under warranty...handbrake and sunroof clip... eventually i removed it myself..

Hmm... I may have to just 'man up' check the car thoroughly and go with it. As you've said .. ive not heard much going wrong with the zeds... and if so its earlier 03 odds models.. hm. Maybe i just want reasurance? pml. Plus with a loan I CAN by an HR lol :cloud9:

When buying a car even new always comes down to chance. You can't be sure of anything. For maintenance you can leave £2k a year aside as then your always covered.

If your being a bit paranoid I wouldnt take out a loan aswell personally. Let's say the clutch goes. That's 1-1.5k, 4 tyres 600-900 and fuel is £100 a tank. If you have money in your pocket these aren't as bad but it might stretch you too thin with a big loan ontop. But if you can afford it go for a HR  . I'd rather but an older one cash than a new one with a hefty loan but that's me.

warranty companies sell very expensive toilet paper, because all they are good for is wiping your ass with them when something goes wrong.

to give you an example Husky had a warranty, he thought it was gold plated he had a few issues etc needed a new gearbox etc and a few others. they ended up giving him £250 and that was a struggle and he then had to find over 6k for all new bits etc.

look at privates, they are good, just keep in mind the old saying "buyer beware" that means you need to ask lots of questions.
