coldel
....Sarkozy is out - although will it be big changes? Saw on the news lots of people cheering at the Bastille, as if a revolution is going to take place, but doubt very much it will and they might be sadly disappointed. What is scary is that they have promised an end to austerity, which is fine, if you have a plan b, which they dont seem to have. France is broke, high unemployment, in fact probably in a worse state than the UK - like to see how they are going to sort that mess out. Still, at least le pen had nothing to do with it which is a bonus.
rtbiscuit
this could be the final nail in the coffin for Europe. depending on what le pen does, and which way france goes, they could drag the whole of europe done, might even kill the euro. coldel
...lots of sabre rattling, some very small but public changes initially followed by more debt - I think you could be right Rich.
rtbiscuit
if they take the route the US are by investing heavily in public infastructure, thus creating jobs and increasing spending etc it might work, but to be honest i think the system is going to come crashing down around their ears.
