rabbitstew
Im off to Manchester this coming weekend for a couple of days for a stag weekend. Theres about 10-12 lads and I need to come up with a few ideas for things to do on the Saturday. I know a few members live up that way so was after some suggestions otherwise everyone will just end up in the pub drinking all day. Ive heard the science museum is free and worth a look around. I also saw theres a greyhound track which might be worth a look later on in the night. Any recommendations as to where to go? Or places to avoid? Whats the pubs & clubs like with a large bunch of lads coming in? Any problems? Cheers.

Stew
Adventure sports place. Indoor skiing perhaps. Doesn't Manc have an indoor skydiving place? Printworks to bump into a hen do or two!
rtbiscuit
i'll be stag doo'ing it up there in august. depends on what your groups tastes are. I did a stag do a few years ago there. if you like indie music then there are lots of great indie clubs etc, Canal street is the gay hub of manchester, but its a really good night out there; straight or gay. theres also a few strip joints there as well. if you like mountain bikes you've got some great tracks on the door step. paintballing, go karting, loads of stuff round there. marzman
Not much fun stuff to do in Manny in my opinion. You could try the following: The Chill Factor: www.chillfactore.com (indoor ski slope) Go Karting: http://www.daytona.co.uk/venues/manchester/ Dont go to the science museum... its a kids day out. As for going out... you'll struggle to get in anywhere in a group... we separate into 3's when going into any clubs as you risk being turned away otherwise. This place is fairly cool, although we had to book in advance last time we went... you pour your own beer from the taps on your table, and pay by the ml i think... a bit of a fun novelty. http://tapsbar.co.uk/
HEADPHONES
My clubbing and going out days ended long ago but I often hear the girls at work mentioning going down to the Deansgate Locks for drinks. A few bars there overlooking......you guessed it ....the locks
rabbitstew
All sounds good. Ive not been out clubbing for many years, so it should be interesting. Luckily the group of lads are all sensible and so we havent had any problems previously when we`ve been out. I did hear about Canal Street. I`ll have to dig out my rainbow crop top for that I think. Squee
Mr Squee's going to a stag-do in Manc next month and they've all booked to go to the Comedy Store so you could try that if you fancy something a little different from getting tanked up and strippers S. Geekboy78
i was up there for a stag a couple of weeks ago - depends when you get there, and costs etc, but we went to the casino on friday afternoon. there were 18 of us and we booked two croupiers and played poker. i had never played before, and the croupiers were really helpful, letting you know the rules and helping with the betting... it was a great laugh, getting beers and hanging with your mates. manchester235 it was called... as for bars and clubs, there are tonnes of them. i'd try and split the groups a little, but that is the same pretty much anywhere. we went to fac251. it was a bit young for us - we are mid-30s - but there was no bother, and jesus was the scenery good. Chill Factor snow boarding is good fun.. water sports at Salford Quays WS Club. Google Manchester guided walks, hidden tunnels, awesome, random but really bizzare and good fun.. even with the lads, town hall tour etc... I live in Manc, in the city centre, its a nightmare getting in with lads.. walkabout is group friendly. Book in advance a quick e-mail to the manager of a bar/pub will help.. The Northern (again book in advance) stays open till 5am. Bem Brazil (Meat Feast), Topkapi palace, good turkish grub (posh kebabs) for a group of lads.. Akbars, awesome curry, google it.. its huge and packed with good vibe every night.. Google Rum Trails/Walk manc also. p.s Pub all day is never a bad plan b
rabbitstew
Well, we all had a great time in Manchester. Loads of nice scenery there. It seems every girl in Manchester wears a short skirt. We had a massive session on the Friday hitting the pubs / clubs then had an all day session on the Saturday ending up in a dodgy looking snooker hall called Rainbows before loosing loads of money on the Greyhounds later in the evening. As someone else said theres a few strip clubs. The first we went to was called "long legs" and its highly recommended. Very cheap, friendly and you get to see plenty without spending a fortune. We also went into another one near Printworks called Victorias and immediately wished we hadnt. We were the only blokes in there at 2am on Saturday night and we were immediately pounced on by about 30 birds all desperate for our cash. Talk about high pressure sales. Ive been in a few clubs in my time but have never experienced anything like it. Girls basically dragging you off and asking you to buy them drinks and trying to force money out of you. They were also about 5 times the price of the other club. Certainly wouldnt recommend anyone ever goes there.. All in all wish id had a few extra days there as there was plenty more to do.
