rmacnair
Just tried the cd player for the first time and it has eaten all my cds, so i think i can convince my gf that it's knackered and needs replacing.. and then explain that for a few more quid we could get a touch screen computer in there So i need one of 2 thing. The first is (and i think the answer is no fron what i've read elsewhere) is there and easy way to fix the cd player? And failing that the second is whats the best after market replacement for the bose unit? A sat nav would be handy. Unfortunately i can't convince my gf to let me fit it so i i'll need somewhere near warrington/knutsford that will fit it for a reasonable price
Ken
Eaten all my CDs. Can you give more details. The BOSE will load 6 CDs.
rmacnair
I put a cd in cd slot 1 and nothing happened, i tried to eject it and it just makes a whirring noise and says EJECT CD. So i tried the other slots (with crap CDs) and none of them worked and they're all doing the same. I read somewhere it could be a malfunctioning bose unit or a stuck cd, any ideas? rmacnair
Ipod hack is the cheapest methodfor you matey... That's what I would do if all I want to do is listen to my ipod/iphone and my gf would let me do anything other than drive and clean the zed, but I do like to listen to CDs and would quite like a sat nav too; that's why I mentioned something more sophisticated. Something like this: http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product ... -26725.htm
rtbiscuit
perosnally i would stick with pioneer or alpine as the adapter are readily available for fitting in a zed. as for i hate bose, it should read i hate clarion as the bose stuff is all rebranded clarion
rmacnair
OK, I hate Clarion and all its b*stard offspring Will have a look at Alpine and pioneer. How much does a fitting generally cost?
spursmaddave
You should be able to get a DD fitted for about £80ish or have a go yourself if you are ok with it, plebty if guides on here. To get a 'decent' make with Nav you will be looking £500+ more than likely...
rmacnair
I just bought a pioneer avic d3 (http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product ... -22888.htm) with bluetooth unit CD-BTB200 which, if google is anything to go by, should have cost me in excess of £400. Instead I picked it up on eBay for £130. The microphone clip has gone missing but I'm sure I can sort that out easy enough. The cover plate clip has snapped too, but again I reckon an easy fix. The only thing I need now is to get an up to get it installed and an up to date CD for the sat nav

rmacnair
looks good but thats just the display are you swaping the speakers Not just yet, may consider it in a couple of months, still looking at buying a shed to do up so don't want to spend all my money on the zed... As tempting as it is!! Speaking of spending money on the zed, was looking at alloys today, is it just me or does black against the azure blue just look so much better than anything else.
