Not really that dodgy though is it? Did you ask if there was finance outstanding (fair play if you did...that's dodgy) ? He may have the full intention of paying it off upon sale. JetSet
did not show or owner mention that there is still outstanding fianance on the vehicle As others have said outstanding finance isn't a problem, however the owner not mentioning it would be a no no in my book. Thats BS mate. The finance companies say that. But what they really mean is the keys can't change hands until the money has been paid. Basicaly you pay the finance company the outstanding balance over the phone, and give the owner the difference. You then have the keys and own the car. Never heard such a load of jive in my life. So they're basically saying you could never sell a car with finance on it....bull. You just need to be with the chimp when he pays it off with your money as you conclude the sale. Good luck with the hunt

They have just given you the 'Official' line. In reality you rock up to his house, phone the finance company yourself and settle the finance over the phone with a debit card and then pay the owner the difference. They couldn't possibly be seen to be suggesting this incase anything went wrong e.g once you put the phone down he clonks you over the head with a hammer and dumps you in a river whilst saying thanks for clearing his finance
CaptainSensible
The only thing dodgy here is the lack of punctuation in any of your posts, makes them very hard to read.
